If you have to work this hard to convince someone that Neb is the place you want to be, than it shows this kid doesn't have the passion to be a Husker. Than yeah I agree with Redtillimdead. Forget this kid and move on.

GBR!!!

Agree. We have to compete for the best kids and win some of these battles. I am more concerned that teams like OU, Texas, Florida, Miami, Cal, Auburn, Tenneseee, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M are having strong recruiting classes way ahead of us right now. Except for OU, none of the others even finished in the top 25 and I can argue OU had a very disappointing season as pre-season #1 and not even make a BCS game. We need to bring in kids like Fuller and other top recruits as I expect us to get in the top 25 in recruiting.

And what do all of those schools have in common??? They are smack in the middle or near huge recruiting grounds. States that have so much talent that smaller schools get left overs that are ranked very high. Location also favors all those schools against NU to. Tenn is in the SEC, best conference. ND is right near Chicago. Cal has the hundreds of prospects from the state, is in a warm climate, and probably has a slight edge over NU in most academics.

The other thing one could argue about MOST of those schools, is that they have all been more "mainstream" in college football than NU in the time that high school seniors can remember or since they have been following football.

Yes, location obviously plays a part but Tuscaloosa, AL and Norman, OK aren't exactly Los Angeles and Miami. Those teams near large cities will obviously have that built in advantage. Oregon is unique because of the Nike connection but there are plenty of smaller regional towns that are having success. I don't think we should be losing recruiting battles to Tennessee and Auburn because well they are in the SEC. Our fanbase completely trumps a lot of these other teams. We need to use a different angle to land these kids. Going to Cal? They don't even fill their stadium and have never won a thing. Nebraska has the following like the Packers do in the NFL. Why do these kids want to go play for the Jaguars (equivalent to a Cal, Arizona State, Rutgers, and SEC-lites).

WE (the fans) are one of Nebraska's best recruiting tools.... the following is greater then most NFL teams....

location is almost always the biggest factor in recruiting. bama and OU have way, way more talent within reasonable driving distance than we do. OU has been living on kids driving up from texas for decades. perhaps the only way we could be in a worse location, recruiting wise, was if we were in north dakota or montana. obviously we need to overcome this, but we should all stop and recognize what a great job devaney and osborne did building and maintaining a winner in a location with such a low level of homegrown talent.

again some of you recruiting "experts" read too much into the article put out by scout, rivals, 247, etc.

he may not be a 100% NU lock but we are still tied with another program for the slight lead according to a person close to him. doesnt mean we are going to get him but doesnt mean its over either and we do have as good a shot as anyone else.

oh and for the person to ask. there is not link. deal with it.
