HuskerNationNick
/moved to rumorville Lol I just don't know what to believe here. One source says this, and others reporting are all this one source. It would be a shame and an embarrassment for ND and Manti if this wasn't true, and even more of a shame to Deadspin if it was true. Gotta go home and read this article :ahhhhhhhh Quote Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
Manti got punked! Actually it looks like he scammed the entire thing for publicity. His family and the media ran with it and are now caught in something that could turn into quite the circus. Quote Link to comment

knapplc
Husker football? /moved to rumorville Sorry, rookie mistake. I put it in Other Sports. The Deadspin article seems to have legs. I'm calling this legit so far. To quote Gary Sharp: "Mr. Te'o there is a Miss Winfrey on Line 1" Quote Link to comment
GSG
My jaw is now broken because it dropped so hard after reading all of that! Quote Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
That article is very very in depth. I don't see where it is off. Several other sites running with this article. Sounds like many news outlets were punked. Heck even the university ran with it. Manti was such an inspirational liar. Quote Link to comment
clyde40
I'm not sure what to say... It seem legit but I still want to wait before I jump to conclusions, just wow. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Notre Dame's statement. Unreal: Notre Dame Statement: Manti Te’o On Dec. 26, Notre Dame coaches were informed by Manti Te’o and his parents that Manti had been the victim of what appears to be a hoax in which someone using the fictitious name Lennay Kekua apparently ingratiated herself with Manti and then conspired with others to lead him to believe she had tragically died of leukemia. The University immediately initiated an investigation to assist Manti and his family in discovering the motive for and nature of this hoax. While the proper authorities will continue to investigate this troubling matter, this appears to be, at a minimum, a sad and very cruel deception to entertain its perpetrators. QMany
I'm throwing this out there ... I think he is gay. And someone needs to watch out for this kid. I don't want him to hurt himself. 2 Quote Link to comment
KJ.
This sounds very Notre Dame-y. Quote Link to comment
ZRod
They're discussing it on USC right now. I guess Notre Dame is saying Manti got punked? Haven't read much of the article yet. *edit* guess Knap is on the ball Quote Link to comment
NUpolo8
I'm throwing this out there ... I think he is gay. And someone needs to watch out for this kid. I don't want him to hurt himself. As outrageous as that sounds, when you consider his Mormon faith, I could totally see a cover up story where the narrative got away from him happening. Holy Hell this is big. Quote Link to comment
