The Dude
Elite defense vs. above average offense. hmmmm Quote Link to comment
mnhusker
I'm picking the d because if your going to lose with a good d at least you don't need to watch the opponent hang 60+ points on you. Quote Link to comment
Ratt Mhule
Elite defense vs. above average offense. hmmmm MSU has played one game against a cream puff. I wouldnt call their defense elite quite yet. They may be by seasons end depending how they play against better offenses, but not after last Saturday. Quote Link to comment
JJ Husker
If your defense is amazing, you're never out of any game. MSU is obvious choice I generally prefer defense over offense but it is not obvious in this case. Considering we've beaten the defense of MSU two years in a row, the obvious choice here is Nebraskas O. The problem probably being that MSU's D is not as elite as it could be. 1 Quote Link to comment
HuskerFowler
Can we just combine the 2 and call us Nebraska State and go win the NC. We still keep our uni's thou. Quote Link to comment
huskered17
I'll take Neb offense with out any turn overs. OK that's not going to happen, so MSU's D. GBR!!! Quote Link to comment
TheSker
I like a great defense. With that said, isn't MIch St "O-fer" against us? I'll take what we got because it gets us in the win column more often than them. Quote Link to comment
commando
Spartan offense or our defense? Quote Link to comment
BOJ
Spartan offense or our defense? No skin in the game, but good lord, gotta take the Husker D over MSU O, the MSU O may be the most inept offense in the B1G Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
I am not sure how great the Spartan D will be this year so it is tough to say. A couple of things to determine for me are: We have seen what it is like to have a great defense and inept offense. And now we see the opposite. Both ways we ended up with 4 losses so I really don't think it makes a difference. Balance is the key. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
The question is misleading. What kind of offense comes with Michigan St's D? If I have to take their offense with, jeebus kriest shoot me now. I'll take our offense at the risk of having to outscore folks. I know there's some comparisons of their D to our Suh-fense, but our '09 offense could run circles around this Michigan St offense. Our '09 unit actually put up points against the nobodies. If Mich St's d dont score multiple takeaways in conference play, they may get shut out week after week.. Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
A very good defense/sucky offense in 2009 got us the same results as a very good offense/sucky defense is 2012. A 10-4 record with a CCG lose. If I had to pick between a good defense or a good offense, Id go with the good defense also. That 2009 CCG (defensive game plan) was a thing of beauty! Just FYI, Nebraska won that CCG in regulation time. It was lost after 60:01 of play and intervention by the Big XII Commissioner, Deloss Dodds. :-| As for the topic, I wouldn't read too much into it other that Eric trying to show he can be an objective CFB analyst and make something of his latest opportunity with the BTN. Crouch does have potential, so if he has to do a song and dance about MSU's defense (which won't matter as MSU is jinxed against us... ) to live another day and hone his craft, then so be it. Redux
Michigan State's offense has scored 14 points total in 2 weeks. I'll take a young but talented Blackshirt squad over a Spartan QB carousel any day. Quote Link to comment
