This is definitely blown out of proportion and I honestly don't blame Bo. He (assumedly) thought this was being said in private, and I would've been pissed too! But in the world of political correctness, the University simply has no choice but to do something.

 

Private or not... matters not. That was immature, unwise, arrogant, unprofessional and damaging... even if only his intended audience heard it. Inexcusable.

Just listened to it. It is pretty bad, I personally don't really have a problem with it. Having coached a lot those types of things are said all the time. It is venting. But, with that said, there will be a lot of people upset about this. This could be the beginning of the end for Bo Pelini.

Mitt Romney knows full well what can happen when you're being recorded. The problem is there is no video with this recordning. Perhaps Shawn Eichorst will seek an audio specialist who will determine the authenticity of it? If there were video, I'd say this is the nail in the coffin but regardless this does nothing good for our program. Didn't Bo say when he was hired over at Oklahoma that our first string defense at Nebraska wouldn't make third string at OU or something to that nature?

Damage Control on this will not be easy regardless of the time frame or context it was said in. Major boosters who have been on the fence will jump on this like a fly on crap!

 

I honestly think this was pretty dirty to releae this at this point and wish whomever had this released it back afetr it happened. Not sure this is going to turn out well for Bo or for us fans.

I think what Bo said, and the intention that led him to say it, was wrong.

 

Even if it wasn't wrong,

 

Even if you take into consideration context,

 

Even if you understand he is a passionate, firey guy,

 

Even if you come up with any other enlightenment on the situation that may even be entirely accurate,

 

I think what Bo said is damning and going to be nearly impossible to save face from.

 

 

 

Either way you look at it, there's no escape.
