I just wonder if the sellout streak is in jeopardy now? It's the last thing we have that links us to the Nebraska of old........................if he pissed enough people off, and it looks like he did, the fans could send a SERIOUS message by not showing up, but it's also something that's very dear to us all.

 

This was actually the first thought that crossed my mind when I heard the tape. I hope not.

We're really gonna compare the relationship between a coach and passionate fan to a guy at the grocery store checkout counter and the guy buying brownie mix with an expired coupon?

 

Yes, because it works. The guy with the expired coupon is like the fan base in that he does things that are infuriating. Bo handled this the wrong way, no doubt. But come on. Most all of us would do the same thing.

 

 

Does Brownie Guy have a signed poster of the cashier on his wall? Does he quote the cashier on his Facebook page? Spend hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars every year to support the cashier's work? No, he thinks the cashier is a worthless little punk and he just wants his brownies for 1.79 instead of 2.49.

If we are looking for a new staff at the end of the season, we likely end up in competition with USC

and Texas who will be trying to fill all the same positions.

 

I don't think this is very wise, as we can't outspend Texas. And USC could end up causing a bidding

war anyway. A good year to be a coach between jobs.

 

No evidence it will be better to search next year, but I wouldn't want to end up in a search battle with two other

very high profile traditional powers.

Don't like the comments, BUT I love the intensity. Something missing since Bo was neutered after A&M. Would love to have the intensity, getting in the faces of his OC and he runs that abomination of an O against UCLA, in the face of Randle as he pattycakes with the OL. In the face of his QB when he fumbles or throws and INT. We need that guy back. Not this CEO of a college game. Football at this level is an emotional game.

You can't tell me after all the knee-jerk reactions that are put on hear that nobody else wouldn't have done the same thing? This was uncalled for but some people have to yell a little bit and say things they don't necessarily mean when they are upset. I think I'd get a little upset having people constantly breathe down my neck even if my team won. My problem is this shouldn't have gotten leaked out. I like it myself. His lack of emotion translates to the players IMO. The comments aboout not knowing how to respond, thought the would lay down etc......

Good point. Guys on this board call out players, coaches etc, but we get angry when a player makes a comment about the fans or the coach tells us to go f ourselves. Again, unleash this Bo again.

The problem is that we as the fans are the ones paying for his salary, so it's not a totally fair comparison.

 

Either way, I think this is blown way out of proportion. He was caught in a heated moment which we all know he is apt to do. I'm not concerned with his demeanor. I'm concerned that this will just become a huge distraction for the team

I would love for the admins to give Bo a "one year or else" type ultimatum. It would give Bo the freedom to reignite the fire in his belly and unleash the fury that is the Blackshirts!!!! After witnesses 10 straight wins covered in cursing, tantrums, and spit, the higher ups might realize that "hey, maybe scary Bo is good?" I'm not saying Bo should start body slamming refs, but it shouldn't be off the table either

Oh it will be a distraction. At that point Bo will take the "Us against the world" approach with his players to an even higher level.

Bo got caught, in a shady way, saying what every coach in the nation at one time our another has, or wants to say about their fanbase. The microscope that these guys are under is to full retard levels. I'm ok with it because I have said it about our own to many times to mention.

I simply cannot imagine any coach caring about fans leaving early. I'm blown away by this.
