SIGNED - RB Jordan Stevenson

Recommended Posts

spoke to a very credible source so I hope if anyone fact checks me I don't look like a douche but here it is.

Wisconsin admissions have an algorithm to factor admissions. GPA, SAT, etc. if one is a little low, the others have to be higher to make up the difference.

Stevenson missed by .2 on their scale. The decision to admit went all the way to the chancellor. She denied admission.

Barry Alvarez, I heard, is on a mission to change the way the numbers are crunched by Specific major in order to possibly avoid this moving forward.

I don't know if it adds to the conversation but it was an interesting conversation I had with the person. He believes that this kid would have given Corey Clement a run at #1 this year. He said he would be surprised if he didn't jump the depth chart quickly here.

I have no reason to doubt you and I'm sure that .2 is an incredibly small window to miss by, but by any chance you know or can put in perspective what that .2 value is? .2 out of 5, 10, 100?

So he didn't go into detail but this guy is a Wisconsin alum. He said Stevenson scored around 22 on his ACT. Not great but should have been good enough to play football there. But is GPA and/or SAT was low which brought his number down.

I guess he didn't specify what .2 points meant but it was clearly low enough that Alvarez is trying to change the way admissions are handled.

Anyone have any insight on what the potential issue to getting JS signed is? There was an allusion to something on S&B.

They said that someone is raising a question as to how his recruitment went down from last Thursday to this Thursday. Could be an issue, but they sounded like if that truly was the hold up, there wouldn't be a problem.

This is beyond the recruitment promises to Ozigbo. Honestly, NU is trying to win football games. Putting the best teams together they can. If Stevenson can help, then Ozigbo needs to be on board with it.

To me, if Ozigbo doesn't like it, then it kind of goes to show that he's more of a "me" person than a "we" person. That is NEVER good for team chemisty.

I got not problems with this or with cutting kids or running kids off. None at all. Do what you need to do to win.
Wow, what a difference time makes. All I used to see around here was that the "$EC" did things like that, and that they cheat by oversigning and cutting players.

Suddenly we're all okay with Nebraska doing this?

To me anyone who wants to be the only recruit at a particular position is very telling to me that they may become complacent. Even if he is the only RB recruited in his class, that doesn't mean he will ever become the starter. A player in a prior or future class may always be ahead of him on the depth chart... Why is competition within the same class such an issue for him? If I was him and had his accomplishments and athletic ability, I would welcome the additional competition which should actually elevate my game as well.

***It looks like I need to read entire threads before posting! It looks like Ozigbo may have been blowing off some steam, but now realizes this benefits the entire team!
