Who thinks we beat Iowa?

I think Iowa looks ahead and ends up with a less than stellar win over Purdue and that rattles their confidence (and playoff ranking) a bit so they come in distracted and on their heels. I don't think the Husker will come out flat off the bye, and that, with the insane energy in Memorial, will be the deciding factor.

My biggest concern is Cowherd's prediction since he just says whatever to troll. I don't think his analysis, such as it is, is wrong but I don't think he believes anything he says either. :hmmph

Of course we can beat Iowa if:

(1) Coaches don't get in the way and mismanage the game

(2) Armstrong plays smart and does not commit silly stupid turnovers

(3) We cut down on the penalties like we did with Rutgers, and

(4) Our defense plays decent enough

Iowa has played very smart mistake free football. They are not that good and most of their wins have been close. They have not played anyone good this year. Michigan State would have crushed them if they played them. We have better athletes and we can win if the four things I mentioned happen. I really have a good feeling about this one. It is at home and for a chance to go bowling without relying on luck. It also comes after a bye. You have to like our chances in this one.

We can win this game, but if we aren't careful Beathard could have a career day against us and Desmond King could pick off TA several times. They don't have better talent than us and are very confident/cocky. Most of the fans I speak with, not that I want to, think there is ZERO way they lose to us. Truth is, we're the most dangerous team on their schedule. They have everything to lose and we have nothing to lose, that's a dangerous combination for them to face.

On offense TA must be efficient in the passing game with 0-1 INT's and make some nice escapes and runs with legs.

On defense we need enough push on the line for our corners to cover. If we can cause a few turnovers without giving up the big plays then I think our atmosphere and the pressure of the game will work to our advantage.

Finally, with two weeks to prepare and heal up we should have a solid game plan in place. This is on MR to have this team juiced and ready to pounce.

I'm expecting a victory by less then a TD.

Yes, we can beat them. And yes, I think we will.

I think it's gonna come down to our D-line play and pass defense--both of which go hand in hand. One reason we beat Sparty was because Connor Cook could not complete a pass for most of that Saturday. We got just enough pressure on him, and his throws were a little off that day. These two things kept their offense off the field most of the day, and out of the endzone. We can do that to Iowa too.

I don't know why, but I feel like NU kicks the crap out of Iowa. Something like 42-27. I see ESPN's point at 49%. NU is a head scratcher. They have the talent to compete with almost any team, but a new system on both sides of the ball, along with a lack of depth, drive & questionable play calling has just made this team Jekyll & Hyde.
