lo country
It would appear that this staff is starting to openly challenge the guys to get tougher, nastier and stronger. I like it. Just like I liked when Corey Raymond said look at them and look at us referring to USC. NU needs to quit resting on its never to repeated run in the 90's. I like the fact the staff (at least Cav and Boyd) are talking about the elephant in the room. If I had to guess, the locker room didn't work so now taking a page from Husker Power of old, the results are not printed, but the expectations are. I like it. There are some guys that really have to grow up and get stronger, Cavanaugh said. Ive told a lot of them you have to get serious. I just looked at this: we havent had an All-American (offensive lineman) here since 2001. So lets set our sights a hell of a lot higher. Weve got to go to work and get a lot more serious and toughen up and all that other stuff. https://nebraska.n.rivals.com/news/cavanaugh-talks-about-offensive-line-and-the-future This staff might not be winners (yet), but they "get" what needs to be done. 7 Quote Link to comment

Every one of the OL we are losing should be addition by subtraction, IMO. Not that it was ever necessarily their fault, but the coaches can't start them anymore if they aren't here. TheSker
Epley already called them out. Cavanaugh (and Riley) are simply feeling the heat. As they should. 1 Quote Link to comment

alwayshusking
Gates is a good one. Need to find/develop some more. With more accountability in the S&C program the physical development will hopefully improve. The position group that has fallen off over the years the most from the Osborne years is the OL. 1 Quote Link to comment

Hujan
Part of it is kids now are softer than ever Kids are softer, but so is society as a whole. Criticism is taboo now. Just look at HuskerMax. It's a mortal sin to call out a player on that board. Quote Link to comment
Bowfin
Nothing else to do but watch how this all unfolds next year. Quote Link to comment

Fans have been complaining about the oline play since I first discovered Husker message boards. 15 years w/o an All-American Olineman....how the mighty have fallen..... Quote Link to comment
I am I
The crazy ting is, only one guys pops into my mind that could've MAYBE even earned all American. Spencer Long was pretty good. Anyone else that nearly made it? Quote Link to comment
