I kept seeing pics of him over summer and fall camps and I told my brother, watch Gerry get popped for juicing.... then he gets suspended and then I saw a couple of comments where others allude to it like they knew.. so kinda opion and rumor

not expecting much of a game. tenessee isnt a good team but neither are we with everyone hurt. they probably win it like iowa did vs nebraska

I don't know what to expect out of this team. Tommy won't play, Westerkamp is out, Gerry is out, as far as I know, we're still banged up along the OL.

 

It won't change my opinion of Mike Riley and this staff if we get blown out. We seem to have everything lining up against us. What I will say though is, I want to see just how much fight this team has left.

I want to see some freakin wrinkles in the dang offense. With a banged up QB, need to find more ways to put 2 RB's on the field and/or run the wildcat.

 

Can't remember the game but it was either San Diego State or Arkansas St lined up 3 players behind the QB all in a straight line, motioned the TE I think over to the sideline and faked the hand off to one RB and ran an option to get a 1st down or a TD.

I mean ... I'm pretty much with you on the first line. Been saying our offense - especially the running game - has been pretty vanilla since Langs has been here.

 

That being said, I'm not particularly convinced that we need to do things completely different (not that you said that). If we could find a couple wrinkles in the running game and dial up the same passing game plan that let both Ryker and TA complete about 70% in a couple games we wouldn't be in bad shape.

Statistically UT is worse against the run than UCLA was......I'd plan to line up and run it down their throat.

If Gerry is out for academics, he must not have shown up to any classes. When I was in college, to stay eligible for the NCAA I believe we had to have a GPA slightly north of 1.8.

 

Based on some quick searching looks like effective August 2015, the minimum GPA requirement was changed to a 2.3. Still ridiculously low.

To put it perspective, to stay in the college of business administration at UNL I have to maintain at minimum a 2.5 gpa, and that's still pretty garbage.

It isn't so much needing a gimmick but more of giving an opponent a different look as well as putting your guys in a position to succeed using their strengths. A DPE attacking the edge in a wildcat has more probability for success than him running any jet sweep

With Langs, if we ran DPE in the Wildcat it would probably be right up the middle.

With Langs, if we ran DPE in the Wildcat it would probably be right up the middle.
