Not related but still shows the corruption of Trump

So, assuming we still have a democracy a year from now and Trump's not the president, how do the Democrats prevent this from happening again? They need to make it so people in these positions can't be fired solely by the executive branch.

You might want to add that a POTUS must hire one

I'm not sure how that would work since they're employees of the Executive Branch so Trump and Pompeo ultimately have authority over them. But this is what happens when the president is corrupt and hires a bunch of corrupt goons to round out his cabinet. Oversight should come from Congress but they've effectively broken oversight by, well, being corrupt.

Previously we avoided this problem by having people run the country who cared about the norm of... not being super corrupt.

Just like the President needs approval of the Senate for certain hires, we could make the President require the approval of the Senate (or House or Supreme Court or some other body) in order to fire certain positions.

Yep... sounds like a good idea. Ideally the House since it's more representative of the population.

You might want to check on Obama's relationship with the Inspectors General.  Such as the 47 who signed a letter saying Obama was stonewalling their oversight.

No ONE CARES- OBAMA IS NOT THE PRESIDENT AND HASN'T BEEN FOR 3.5 YEARS. Why don't you continue on and explain how Obama is really the reason that Trump has cheated on all his wives. How Obama has the Billy Bush segment secretly recorded, how Obama himself created Corona in a lab just to make Trump like an idiot. How Obama has instructed Trump to discard Cabinet members like used toilet paper at an unprecedented rate. How Obama is really the one who gave Jarod and Ivanka jobs in the white house, and how Obama is the one who granted Ivanka all the trademarks in China while we've been in a "trade war." Did you know, Obama is the one who told Trump to drink cleaning fluids to beat Corona. Oh and Trump only invested in Hydroxichloroquines parent company because Obama told him to. Obama is also the only reason so many of Trumps friends have been tried and convicted for numerous crimes while Trump was president.

You're schtick is getting old dude. Find a new refrain. Oh wait... here it comes... OBAMAGATE!

Maybe he's another Redux sock.

He's, apparently, a Notre Dame fan who only comes to HuskerBoard to talk politics and keep beating the conservative drum.

He hasn't posted outside of P&R since like November of last year.

Gee I wonder why there's no football going on over the summer . . . it's probably all Trump's fault.

Well, it honestly is.

If he had reacted sooner with respect to coronavirus and hadn't dismantled the pandemic response teams...or if he had just READ the documents produced by the pandemic response teams...he might have had us quarantined a bit earlier, been able to stockpile ventilators a bit earlier, and subsequently reduced the number of cases by around half.

This would possibly mean our curve would have followed that of S. Korea instead of the upward trajectory we're on now.

His inaction will be directly responsible for anything covid related from this point on.  So, technically, you're 100% correct.

At least you're coming around to blaming Trump for something instead of trying to make excuses for him...that's a good first step.

Wait, you mean to tell me that a competent Federal response at the beginning stages of the pandemic could have prevented the catastrophic death toll, job loss, and disruption to daily life?
