PaulCrewe
I didn't know meniscus repair took that long to come back from This. Makes me wonder if there was a little more damage in the knee. Had meniscus surgery in the spring after my freshman year in college and was back to full football activities and lifting in a month. Quote Link to comment

All depends on where in the meniscus, type of tear and how big it was. But this had to be a good sized tear though. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Keep Kalu at safety and your starting CBs are Lee and Jackson. Both of those guys were supposed to be really good out of highschool. Time for them to step up. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
The part about this I don't understand.....didn't this happen in spring ball? Why wasn't the surgery done back then? Quote Link to comment

Time for them to step up. I just can't see that happening. Kieron Williams is a serviceable safety, that's the switch. Move Kalu back until Lee/Jackson prove they are useful. Quote Link to comment
tmfr15
We switched from the 4-3 to the 3-4 because we have talent that's supposed to be more in line with that. My hope is that Diaco will be creative up front, pressure the qb and move him off his spot and therefore cut down on the angles to open receivers. We created next to ZERO pressure last year. No defence, no matter how good the DB core is, can thrive in those circumstances. It sucks to keep saying it but the front seven dictate the success and opportunities for the defensive backfield. RedRedJarvisRedwine
Time to step up Eric Lee. Such promise out of HS. Let's gooooo! Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
I actually think Lee and Jackson are going to step up and show everyone what the excitement was about out of HS. Quote Link to comment
lo country
How was he hurt? Was it in spring ball? Quote Link to comment
teachercd
I have seen fans (posting on other sites) that this means at least one more loss this year and that now they are "okay" with 6 to 7 wins. Ugggg 1 Quote Link to comment

Ugggg nope. That's not ok. Adapt, overcome. We have the players still. I think Lee steps up and plays well for us in Jones absence. This sucks but is not an excuse Quote Link to comment
NU5XChamps
Time for the young guys to step up and play. I prefer to keep Kalu at Safety. Easier for him to react if something goes wrong from there versus on an island on the other side of the field. We will be fine, there is time to get Lee or whoever up to speed. 1 Quote Link to comment

Is it possible the 4 to 6 month recovery is a bit of disinformation gamesmanship? Either way, it is no excuse for this team. If one (or 2 or 3) injury significantly impacts the season, then it's not much of a team to begin with. Depth and development are no less important than a handful of your top players. What team can lose it's 3 best players and not have the season impacted? It's one thing to say that we should have depth and development to mitigate injury issues, but it's quite another to say worst case injuries shouldn't impact the season. Quote Link to comment
