Hilltop
I actually thought about this yesterday afternoon while standing on the sidelines of Memorial Stadium. I was watching my son play his last high school football game. It was a pretty tough day emotionally for all involved. My son's team came up short but he played a great game. I believe Riley has been a part of enough of these "lasts" to know how it should be for him and the players. Give 100% on the field and walk away with class... That's all any of them can really do. Pedro Guerrero
I would put a couple of the OL in at QB so they see how it feels to have teams teeing off on you. 2 Quote Link to comment
Crazyhole
I'd probably get hammered drunk and go full on Pelini. Quote Link to comment
huKSer
"Hey Diaco, you're needed on the field. Right now" "OK, Mike, I'm here. What is so urgent." "These water bottles aren't going to fill themselves" 3 Quote Link to comment

We all know Riley is a good guy, he's not the devil, he's just not the right fit for this job. He'll part on amicable terms, if not the way everyone wanted it to go. But he can choose how he goes out, and if I was Mike Riley, I'd go out with a bang. Turn to the back of the playbook. Pull out all the trick plays you've dreamt up. Throw everything you've got at Iowa and, even if you lose a game you're expected to lose, you'll at least give the players some fun while doing it. Blitz the hell out of them. Fake punts. Onside kicks. Have your Holder throw a shovel pass to Drew Brown and have him take it through the A gap. Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass I'd have every Senior play at least one snap. Get Adam Taylor a carry. Put Stoltenberg in as a Fullback. * We don't KNOW this is Riley's last game. But we know. Have Mike Riley actually call the game, make Diaco come down on the sidelines and show us why he was a Broyles award winner and all you've listed above. Quote Link to comment
Kiyoat Husker
Play with a narrow lead the entire game, let Iowa take the lead in the 4rth Q, drive down the field in the waning minutes,... and have Lee throw an INT in the end-zone. Because, why not? Edited November 22, 2017 by Kiyoat Husker Quote Link to comment
dvdcrr
I would show up and go through the motions like I have all year, just making sure I had some kind of gig lined up for later Quote Link to comment

Stone Cold
If i was riley and it was my last game. Fumblerooski, i dont care if it wouldnt amount to yards or plays but it would be a huge throwback to nebraska history and he would go down in infamy for doing it. Big Red 40
I think this is going to be a very emotional game for the players and the staff . I expect a huge effort from them all , especially the senior players . It’s a rivalry game, on our home field, Theres no reason to hold anything back . Definitely would like to see Taylor get a carry too, he deserves it . I see a feel good win for the Huskers. Quote Link to comment
Husker NoNo
I’d run a strong side triple option play on the first offensive play of the game. Then run to the 50 yard line and scream at the fans “are you not entertained” until Moos had security escort me out. But Riley actually is the nice guy everyone says he is, so he’ll make it about his players. He’ll put them is a position to succeed and achieve some individual goals. He’ll make sure senior day goes off well. And he will redirect any question about this being the last football game of his career, to today’s game and the senior class. Quote Link to comment
Hayseed
I'd use a five man defensive front and tight pass coverage the entire game and alternate blitzing lb's and safeties while de's drop into coverage. Long ago I would've alternated our current offense with a running game led by direct snaps to JD or Stanley at QB, similar to what we did with Burkhead. The problem though is not so much what we've done, but how we've done it.....like the Edsel version of the Porsche. Now that JD is probably out.....just do whatever and get this thing over.
