BIG ERN
Have to get used to not having college football in 2020 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
My wife and I were talking last night about this winter. Summer has been fairly easy in our area because of outdoor actives like work in the yard, going to the lake or golfing. Winters in Nebraska suck anyway...but at least you could plan on getting out to some sporting events (college or HS) along with some social events. If we have to go all winter with very little to do and no sports to watch on TV...I'm going to go crazy. I might have to start reading War and Peace. 1 Quote Link to comment

You could go sledding, or get on that drug habit you've been meaning to start. 4 Quote Link to comment

knapplc
And then there's this. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Dang. Bad afternoon for this kind of news. Now, counterpoint this (which is obviously a worst-case scenario) with this, from Illinois: 1 Quote Link to comment

I thought it was well established that it originated in Kansas and that Spain got the name because they had a free press who reported the virus while other countries were hush hush because of WWI. As for the Cardinals, I caught the tail-end of a rant from Brandon Tierney of CBS Sports Radio stating some Cardinals went to a casino prior to their series against the Brewers. Again, I caught the tail-end so I may have missed something. 1 Quote Link to comment

There's been a lot happening in this country lately, and also the push to pay players has been brewing for a while. Count me in the camp that thinks that if a coach makes $5 million/year the players should be getting paid beyond a free degree (that in my opinion is becoming obsolete in value in the present age anyway) and $6000/year. I want to watch college football this season but it seems that times are a changin' and that a lot of s|-|it's about to go down. *Edit: Maybe you weren't talking about the PAC 12 players group, Joe. Sorry if I misunderstood there. If we're going to be serious about it, the players should have 'a voice.' But I shudder at the thought of my 18 year old self trying to lead a union or a social movement. This could be a good educational opportunity to converse with the players about safety, as long as call is made by the adults in the room. 1 Quote Link to comment

In my state I may not enter a library, community college hall, or a gym. However I can (but won't) go to a casino or a crowded unmasked restaurant patio. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

The difference between public and private spaces. This is a real issue in the current environment. I agree that there is no logic here and there is room for a good discussion as to why. I wish you would post like this in the other forums. You might enjoy it more. Quote Link to comment

As bad as a winter with no sports would be, imagine how much worse it would have been 40 years ago before the internet, streaming, etc. We can just make this thread our official sport for 2020! Whoever scores the most smileys wins! 1 Quote Link to comment
