For you guys with past Huskers seasons on DVD, fire 'em up. That's going to be the only games you see this season. Can those 26 players practice together in quarantine? If it’s the right mix they can even scrimmage. If all 85 on the roster test positive they can all practice in a COVID bubble and be ready to play the season recoverd from COVID. Quote Link to comment

They could be all the way from asymptomatic to fairly sick. Quote Link to comment

Maybe I can start drinking it while watching the Batchelor. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
This season is going to be like the 2018 Akron game. We're getting closer and closer to kickoff but we can see the storm on the horizon. They may actually have a kickoff, but the games are going to be called and we'll all just be left sitting around wanting football. Feels bad, man. 4 Quote Link to comment

MLB has had a problem with guys going out to casinos, strip clubs - positive tests soon follow - causing postponements. College Football will have the same problem, only there are more of them, they are younger and more immature, they are less likely to follow the rules, and there is a lot more contact. s#!t is doomed before it even starts. 2 Quote Link to comment

Kid is arguably not in the greatest shape just based on pictures. He is obviously overweight and hasn't been through college workouts. He is an outlier in that he did have to go to the ER but is not admitted. His mom is speculating about further issues but what parent wouldn't right now. She is understandably scared. As a parent I would be. I wish the kid the best but I don't believe he fits the typical stereotype of a college athlete in the best shape of his life. My point is this case shouldn't be the gleaming example that college athletes are in danger. The reports coming out of all the other schools, like Illinois, are consistently saying their athletes are experiencing mild to no symptoms when positive. 1 Quote Link to comment
twofittyonred
Not really sure why the powers that be just dont announce that the 2020 NCAA football season is canceled and start making arrangements and protocols to be in place for next year's season if we are still dealing with covid... 1 Quote Link to comment

With them being mostly asymptomatic its not how are they doing with the disease as who will they spread it to that wont... 2 Quote Link to comment

I am glad that you can ascertain health status by a static image. Did you attend the Edgar Cayce Institute? 2. We are basing covid and college athletics on a stereotype. Interesting. 3. What is a "gleaming" example of a college student-athlete in danger? 4. In your expert medical opinion, based on your medical training in epidemiology and infectious disease specialization, what are those mild symptoms that will not turn into sequelae. 5. What is it going to take to convince you that this is a serious situation for college student-athletes? 4 1 Quote Link to comment
