BigRedBuster
OK, it's clear that this team is not good and we might not win another game this year. That would make Fred 6-25 on the year with no Big Ten wins. So, who are realistic options to replace Fred? Quote Link to comment

Woof I don't have any idea who to go after. Guessing it's time to take a chance on some young up-and-comer. Quote Link to comment
Cdog923
Given the buyout, there are none. The AD is, essentially, stuck with him for another year. 5 Quote Link to comment

JJ Husker
At this point I don’t know why they even need a men’s basketball program. Cut it lose to help with title IX balance and put the money to better use. It’s never been good and likely never will be based on the last 40 years. None of the coaches we’ve had in that time have really made a difference. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

If we wait until next year what is his buyout and salary at that point? Still paying him 18 mil arent we? 15 buyout and his salary? Quote Link to comment

There is also mitigation language in Hoiberg’s contract that would decrease a potential buyout based on Hoiberg’s salary at his next job." https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/extension-hefty-buyout-part-of-hoiberg-contract-that-was-quietly-revised-in-2020/article_668a9258-cdd7-5fd8-acb9-009ecd1323f0.html 2 1 Quote Link to comment
