  1. The border isn't open, and the amount of vetting that takes place is anything other than lacking. This is a bit outdated but it gives you a decent overview of how rigorous the process is:

  4. Why anyone think Nebraska is better off outside the B1G is mind boggling to me. There is all kinds of evidence (mostly huge checks) that support being in the conference almost nothing against it. This is ignoring that other fact that it could have easily been Michigan vs OSU in the Natty last year. People are delusional. People looking outward for blame for two decades of really bad football instead what it really is.

  5. Unfortunately yes.….we went through two presidential cycles with millions voting for Trump. That’s all the proof you need.

  10. Why anyone would want to leave what will be one of the two superconferences in college football is beyond me. Writing is on the wall for the Big 10 and SEC to be making significantly more money than every other conference within the next few years, especially if there is another round of realignment.

  12. Hey; if the entire world can come together to cause economic turmoil around the world to make Trump look bad, surely half of a nations registered voters can get together to “own the libs”!!!

  13. We're quickly reverting back to the Tan Suit of discourse on the Right. Good news is that means they don't have anything to actually complain about. The bad news is that Republicans still show up to the voting both which is terrifying.

  17. As a Gophers fan, Gosh I hate this old line. Bernie Bierman won five national championships at Minnesota, and Murray Warmath won another. Glen Mason turned around a losing program. And Henry Williams won 136 games in 22 years, at a time when college teams regularly played fewer than 8 games a year. PJ Fleck is having a decent run, you know, having taken over a team that was winning under the previous two head coaches, but winning more games in an era when they play 50% more games per season doesn't make him the best coach we ever had.

  19. In addition, with our track program quickly improving under St. Clair and his older brother being quite a track athlete, who knows if the brother starts looking for a place closer to home than Starkville. Establishing the roots now is well worth the potential and you're spot on that the landscape of college football could look much different in a year or two.

  21. What was kind of lost in all that close game business is many of those games shouldn't have been close in the first place, based on team talent. We shouldn't be playing teams like Georgia Southern and Northwestern close on a regular basis.

  22. Democrats and liberal pundits are such climate doomers. They show data and click bait headlines that show the number of heat deaths have increased 250% in just 3 years, and we're only halfway through summer, they could be spinning this positively that this is going to be the coolest and probably the smallest amount of heat deaths Arizona will experience for the rest of our lives (and the lives of our kids, grand kids, great grand kids....). The entire rhetoric around climate change needs to change.

  25. A big part of it anyway...It seemed to me that there was some improvement with the lineman's hip movement and strength in the spring game on both sides of the ball. That was the impression I got. Here's a Sports Illustrated article discussing Nebraska's strength and conditioning if anyone missed it. https://www.si.com/college/2023/06/30/nebraska-strength-conditioning-development-future-matt-rhule

  26. Duval must be some sort of evil wizard to have that much control over making players stiff and slow footed.

  28. The whole "firing off the ball" thing that was brought up a lot last offseason like it was some new OL technique was complete coach speak BS. I think Duval was a problem with our OL. I don't think it was about being strong or not, it was that he made them stiff as hell and turned their feet into cinder blocks.

  29. ESPN has had some of the worst management over the last decade. They went from the absolute leader in sports broadcasting to pretty much garbage. Their A team announcing crews are second rate (outside of Fowler and Herbstret). Broadcast production (except for championship games) is awful, even BTN crews do a better job. Now they've gotten rid of the only real talent they had left (which wasn't that good to begin with). It's like they're purposefully trying to tank the company. It's crazy, but I was so happy the B1G left ESPN, Fox has been night and day better for at least 5 years now.
