So I want russia gone, totally gone, more than anyone here. What I don't like is the new "You don't want to give Ukraine ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD??? YOU MUST LOVE PUTIN" which has become a thing. With that said, if these leads to russia being gone, that is great news.3 points

Spending needs to go down. Way down. It is going to doom us. Well not any old f#&%ers that are in office just people my age. The same group of boomers who lecture young people about fiscal responsibility have none that run this country. It is laundering to push more money into their pockets.3 points

I mean we should all just be inured to it at this point. The leader of the Republican party, a rich draft dodger who's never paid a bill in his life, stood on a stage and mocked his token opponent's husband for being deployed overseas and threatened to betray our allies to his idol Putin if they didn't - checks notes - pay their bills. His loving crowd cheered and laughed. I'm listening to a Republican Congresswoman on Sirius right now supporting not voting on the foreign aid bill the Senate just passed with $60B for her homeland because it has no border security provisions. After they complained that a foreign aid bill needed border security provisions previously and successfully got them included into a bipartisan bill doing both things. Then personally tanked said bill after their aforementioned leader decided it would be bad for him personally in an election year and the leader of her caucus called it dead on arrival before even seeing it. She was asked why her party tanked the bill that had border security provisions they wanted? She questioned if it was such a strong bill, why didn't it pass the Senate? This is not a serious party and these are not serious people. They've completely lost the ability to care about being hypocrites or the capacity for shame. It's all about power, baby. At this point they thrive on people being too stupid to realize how malignant they are. And if we as a people are too stupid to force them to reckon with their failings, nothing will change. Within the confines of the s#!tty two-party system we have, we'll continue to get the representation we deserve, and it will not be good.3 points

I realized a while ago I am no longer a target demographic for anything except AARP ads and depends commercials. I really could care less about the HT show. It is a time to load up on food and go to the bathroom. Now, get off of my lawn!!!3 points

The usual Putinists along with the likes of Graham and Rubio who have flip-flopped due pressure from The Orange Guy. Then there's Lankford trying rehabilitate his MAGA credentials after having his legs cut out from under him for of all things, negotiating with the Libs. This iteration of the GOP has no shame, no backbone. But I do remember being told that there isn't any evidence the party has gone full Putinist. Really?3 points

I like Sears getting the start on Friday. He's an experienced starter that wasn't used last year in that position. I understand Walsh getting to start too with his gas and slider. Caleb surprises me as I expected Christo to get a shot. Maybe Bolt/Childress want Christo as the mid week starter and long relief. Still, if Christo's control has improved and his change really is a useful pitch I wonder how good Walsh and Clark must be throwing right now. Clark to me is the biggest surprise, let's hope it's a good surprise. He's a lefty (like Walsh) so I like that and he flat has juice with movement. Can't walk batters though so Sunday is a good spot for now. Sears should top mid 90's and throws a slurve/change as an out pitch. Right Handed location pitcher. We need a go to Friday starter so honestly, I think it will be trial by fire.2 points

I always find it interesting how people get so worked up about the halftime show. The NFL has been doing these for a very long time and, quite frankly, it's almost impossible to get something amazing and unique that is going to appeal to everyone. So...kick back and enjoy it. If it's not your type of music, get up, go get something to eat, go to the bathroom, get another drink and then sit down to watch the second half. Honestly, I didn't even watch this one. Most are going to be similar to this. Every once in a while, you're going to get something great like Prince. But, if not...no big deal.2 points

It really tickles me that you twice voted for a rapist and you're not self aware which to see the irony in all the weird Twitter posts you link in these threads. Like, maybe, just maybe, the people who voted for the rapist career criminal who tried to subvert Democracy aren't really people we should take seriously?2 points

That’s not even remotely close to being true as you know. Pence was never shown to not have charges because he is an old senile man like The Big Guy. Trump deserves whatever charges he gets just like The Big Guy should have received but add in obstruction for Trump.1 point

Your missing the biggest misconception... neither Pence or Bidden, by constitutional law were authorized to have those documents period. "If" you, me or anyone outside of the elites had taken and stored documents with those labels/restrictions they'd be imprisoned. Trump, being a president is allowed to declassify and remove. So.. to state that which you stated is accepting a two tier justice system. Pence and Bidden should be prosecuted to the "FULL" extent of the law and should be expected to defend themselves in the courts just a Trump is.1 point

In addition to actual horserace polls, I've in particular given up on opinion polling like this in our current era. The typical American voter is either too disconnected from day to day politics stuff or just generally too damn stupid to accurately decipher what is really going on.1 point

Exactly, not a bad seat in the house... Baseball in a perfect setting always trumps any other sport. Outdoors, Peanuts, 7th inning stretch, the long ball, the missed call, the swing batter swing, high and tight, double steal, the hit and run and that damn popup bunt that drops and makes everyone shake their heads... Baseball Baby!!!1 point

It was a good football match-up, though K.C. remains a relatively small metro market and SF is not in the Top 10. The halftime show wasn't exactly can't miss performers. The new streaming platforms didn't add much to CBS's historic network numbers. Would a person be wrong to suggest Taylor Swift made the difference?1 point

Haymarket Park really is an awesome diamond. Best in the B1G and top 10 college parks. Now add in a few brewski's and well... could get even better!! Add in a section of seats on both sides and maybe a small grandstand behind the center field decor and then sell, sell, sell the seats!! Keep the grass seating too for the little ones that like running around.1 point

Yeah I could see that being the case. My thoughts were just my personal hunch. I know a lot of folks need their doom fuel, but honestly I don’t sweat polls at all right now because polls in February are worthless.1 point

No apologies needed. Life happens and everyone has some type of cross to bear. Joe couldn’t remember when he was VP according to Joe. That’s not “normal” for even people his age. Joe is probably close to where Reagan was at the end of his last few years of Presidency. I dare so we wouldn’t have wanted a third Reagan term even if it were legal given his memory issues. It’s not about going tit for tat, it’s about being forthright in saying neither candidate should be acceptable. I didn’t diagnose anyone. When people here call Trump cheeto head, they aren’t really diagnosing him with an actual Cheeto for a head ya know It’s a descriptor. Just because you can’t understand that Joe has mental/memory issues that make him a bad candidate, doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t speak to it. And I might take you a little seriously on this issue when I see you make these same comments to the folks posting about Trumps mental state. Otherwise we know it’s just you defending your guy. Which I get it. It’s Merrick’s guy! BTW….if Biden were mentally sound, he wouldn’t have been let off for once he is no longer President. That’s part of the report.1 point

I’m not a macroeconomics person, and I know it’s obvious to anyone with a brain that NATO is good for us and not upholding the treaty is a bad thing, but let’s say Russia takes over Europe while we save money by not helping them, and then everything settles down into a new normal. Russia would be a total s#!t trading partner with us and it would have a horrible negative impact on our economy, and we couldn’t really run to China either. Russia and China would just be laughing at us as we spiral downward. China is a huge trading partner with us right now but they could decrease that by a lot in this circumstance. The other hypothetical is Russia fails against a US-less NATO. I’m sure Europe will still trade with us but they’re going to try to avoid doing anything that benefits us in any way. Being an isolationist/nationalist country esp when it comes to Europe is going to leave us way worse off than if we are good allies to them.1 point
