Huskers Win!! 8 in a row. Sears with great outing, not quite to his standards, but 7 innings, 2 runs. Gets the win to move to 5-0…. But hero in my eyes is Kyle Perry ! Came in with bases loaded, 0 outs and doesn’t allow a run! Offense does enough4 points

If a person has nothing better to do than line up on the street yelling and protesting, well, that person needs to get a life. Too many people are worried about what other people are doing and are not near concerned enough about their own behavior.4 points

They did an amazing documentary on a non-traditional family that made sure the child (in this case a daughter) had two full time parents (in this case, both male). The documentary followed her life mostly with less information about the parents but I think that was done intentionally to let the viewers of the documentary get a real understanding of the impact that TWO parents have on a child. It was really an interesting watch3 points

Okay, you should have started with that! So you ARE NORMAL! You don't care about the climate like a Envior-Bro, you care about cash!3 points

Had a good chuckle this morning because getting out of the car at work, CBS aired his thoughts and he just used it to accuse his opponent of hating the police. His comments were so meaningless they didn’t even let him finish for the full clip, they just cut it off mid-sentence. Trumpism lurches further toward fascism. A tale as old as time.3 points

While I don't think anybody disagrees with this, I do think this is an extremely simple view. I'd be curious to see any studies that control for poverty levels, working hours of the mother figure, and what school districts these kids come from. Fortunately the rates of single parent households has fallen after peaking in 2005. Although I don't think it's because we've gotten better at helping these families, it's more in line with decreasing birthrates and decreasing marriage rates overall. I'm not sure what pro-family policies will actually work to address the above problems.3 points

When it sets in that you are a dork should be the second you walk into Michaels or Hobby Lobby with a buddy regardless why you are there The only times I’ve ever been in those stores is because my wife made me go with her.2 points

I SORT of get, if you just see the protest dorks out there and you go join in... But...imagine being at f#&%ing Hobby Lobby or Michaels...with a buddy and you are like "Hey, this will just take a minute, I gotta buy some poster board, a stick, some paint and maybe glitter." And your buddy is like "Oh, does your kid have a project in school?" And you are like "No, I am protesting the sun" or "I am supporting Hamas" or whatever... Does it not set in that you are a total dork???2 points

D. If you don’t have anything better to do than take to the streets to carry a sign or yell at random people, you are a loser that needs to get a life. I don’t care what side of any issue you may be on. Get a frikken hobby and quit being a jackwagon.2 points

Doesn't the vast majority of discussion take place in the center of this diagram? Perhaps it's a subset of We Should Take Care of Our Environment, but one might think this diagram deserves a circle Ignoring Climate Change is Dangerous (and Not Hysterical), as that's where a lot of the scientists reside. But given the parameters of We Should Take Care of Our Environment, what does a good Libertarian suggest? The words Our Environment are tricky for individualists.2 points

I know you're joking, but a lot of your posts genuinely read like this. You accuse people with reasonable concerns of having comic over-reactions, based on something that happened to a guy you knew, once.2 points

IX. Demonizing Americans with Whom He Disagrees "On Nov. 15, 2023, while announcing his 2024 presidential bid, Trump said in a speech at Mar-a-Lago, “the gravest threats to our civilization are not from abroad, but from within.”" He has called those who don’t support his reelection “demonic forces, abolishing and demolishing–and happily doing so–our country.” He later described the opposition as “Marxist, fascist, and communist tyrants who want to smash our Judeo-Christian heritage.” Nov. 11, 2023, Claremont, NH Veterans Day Event: Trump vowed to “root out” his political opponents, calling them “vermin,” echoing fascist dictators like Hitler and Mussolini. March 6, 2023, CPAC conference: Trump said, “If those opposing us succeed, our once beautiful U.S.A. will be a failed country that no one will even recognize. A lawless, open-borders, crime-ridden, filthy, communist nightmare. That’s what it’s going and that’s where it’s going … Either they win or we win. And if they win, we no longer have a country.” Oct. 22, 2023, Truth Social, Trump said: “Democrat politicians, mainstream media personnel and Hollywood actors and producers are brazen unapologetic Communists” Obviously he doesn't know what communism is especially considering that under Biden corporate profits are at an all time high. His base doesn't know what it means either but it touches them in giblets.2 points

Do you mean to tell me that printing trillions upon trillions of dolllars out of thin air the past four years causing mountains of debt has caused an increase of corporate profits?!?!? Shocker.2 points

I am not in favor of arbitrary dates, forced conversion, mandated technology, and increased taxes. Solar is great, but a recent hailstorm decimated a large array in Texas. Nuclear options continue to be shuttered. I think there has only been one new one go online since 2015. Lots of new wind turbines, but later disposal is still an issue. EV battery mining is a scourge on the very Earth we want to save. How about disposal options for batteries that weight 1200+ pounds? I read that the EV mandate by 2030 would manage to cut emissions by .20%. Yes, the decimal is in the correct spot. Will see if I can find it again. I dont want higher taxes for unproven "solutions". How about we start by cutting the $9 trillion in fossil fuel subsidies, and see what the private market can do with an even playing field. Check out what Norway has figured out about EV mandates.1 point

Huskers had really good top of 7. Walk, hit and run, sac fly, single…. Score 2 and take a 4-2 lead headed to bottom of 7.1 point

Sears records his first 1-2-3 inning with 2 weak ground outs and a K to finish. Huskers need some offense1 point

Yep. The perpetual cynics on Reddit are convinced they’ll just waive that requirement. I’m inclined to agree. I don’t think the GOP is going to start any kind of ethical framework at this point.1 point

I mean, firstly, I don't live in constant fear. I do think that people on the left - or young people having extreme fear over climate change - is a problem because the effect on people isn't going to lead to the extinction of humanity or anything like that. It's going to cause deaths, sure, but in the form of increased natural disasters which will predominately affect poor people in 3rd world countries who nobody cares about. Climate change is going to affect life in all kinds of ways - it already has. Increasing insurance rates - making states like Florida increasingly uninsurable - weather patterns changing causing agricultural economies to change, etc. All of these things cost money. The issue we're facing now is that these changes are happening MUCH faster than previously expected and are costing A LOT more money than previously thought. You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how I view climate change - it's not the loss of life I worry about; I do not care about people that much. It's the political instability rapidly shifting economics are going to cause. If you think our politics are toxic now, wait until homeowners insurance premiums increase massively by the end of the decade. And that will be just the start.1 point

Well…isn’t this precious. We play each other tonight on ESPN. My story about the rangers. When I was in grade school, my dad used to do business with an owner (Brad Corbett). He went a game with him. He brought me home a tee shirt that said “you gotta have balls to play for the rangers”. I wore it once and I never saw it again. Assuming my mom threw it away. Side note….he rode the elevator up with George jr before he owned them. Side side note…is it bad if your opening day starter leaves the game with a pulled hammy??? f#&%.1 point

I bolded where you advocated for getting rid of all the Palestinians. I know you'll now try to claim you meant only Hamas, but you were responding to posts about US troops and civilians. And even if you did mean "only" Hamas, how do you go about doing that as they are both a militant and political organization? Just kill all the Palestinians with any ties to Hamas? You're literally advocating for a final solution, which I most definitely oppose and am saddened that you don't.1 point
-
Thank you for agreeing that it is quite the stance. I agree… I just want Hamas wiped out… You should as well. it’s kind of sad that you don’t want that actually.1 point
