  1. '02 Rose Bowl against Miami on ACC Network if anyone wants to watch that beating again.

I kinda liked watching. Last breath of a legend moment.

I did forget just how stacked that Miami team was. 38 draft picks on the roster, 17 of them were first rounders!

    3. JJ Husker

All I remember about it is that we didn’t deserve to be in that game in the first place....and we proved it in that game. The debacle in Boulder was just too much for me to get beyond.

That 2001 Miami team was an all-time great.

You could tell they were just going through the motions. They knew they had that game from the start. They could have hung so many more points on us if they'd have kept the pedal mashed to the floor, but they were there to celebrate more than crank up points.

  2. Alex Gordon just pitched an inning.  Who says watching the Royals lose 16-3 is a waste of time.

  3. Andy WTF are you doing with that timeout.

  4. As of tonight Tim Beck is OC at Texas and Bob Diaco is DC at Oklahoma.  What a time to be alive.

      Not true.

Sounds like McNeill will serve as interim DC and good ole Diaco will coach LB.

Nvm. Now reading he is.. What a bunch of dummies.

Edit to the edit. Sounsd like McNeill was named interim DC?

    3. StPaulHusker

      StPaulHusker

Ruffin McNeill is the DC and Diaco was moved to LB coach

Still looks bad to have Diaco do *anything* for your program at this point.

  5. Bama tied with Citadel at half...wut

    1. mrandyk

      mrandyk

Citadel hasn't even attempted a pass. How can such a bad one-dimensional team hang with that defense?

  6. Carsen Edwards has been incredible in the tournament.

      JJ Husker

Yeah, he is fun to watch. Like that kid.

One of the best games I've watched as a casual fan in quite some time.

Unbelievable performance from Edwards. He is incredible. We were raving about how athletic he was - he could turn on the speed and drive to the hole with ease or seemingly effortlessly raise up and nail a deep 3. Matchup nightmare.

  7. Craig Smith's Utah St club giving Nevada a big challenge tonight.  Thruman from Omaha has been a beast and is keeping Nevada in it.

  8. Damn. RIP Bob Gibson. The greatest athlete the state has ever produced.

    1. CheeseHusker

      CheeseHusker

Yeah, tough days to be a Cardinals fan. Lost Brock and Gibson within a month.... and bombed out of the playoffs too

    2. TonyStalloni

      TonyStalloni

Its wild that Gale Sayers and Bob Gibson pass in the same week.  Omaha had some world class athletes in the 60's.

All from the same housing project. Johnny Rogers, too. There’s a book about it. I didn’t know that Gibson was a globetrotter. At least I think I heard that

  9. Duke is insanely stacked this year.

@ColoradoHusk They do want to win the conference, but that's not the ultimate goal. That's the basic structure of college basketball now, especially with the ACC essentially being a super conference; it isn't like the way CFB is structured where the CCG is essentially a play-in game to the playoff. Duke, Carolina or Virginia could win any other conference in the country (maybe not the Big XII, but Kansas isn't invincible), yet one of them is going to finish 3rd or worse in the ACC simply because that's how stacked that conference is.

    3. ColoradoHusk

      ColoradoHusk

@Cdog923 I hear what you are saying, and I am sure that Duke wants to win the conference.  However, all of this talk about how Duke is such a great program, they haven't won an outright ACC regular season championship since 2006 (only shared it once in 2010).  I understand the ACC is a tough conference, but if Duke were so great, they would win the conference more often.

    4. Cdog923

      Cdog923

@ColoradoHusk To me, that speaks more to the strength of the ACC than the weakness of Duke, though. Under the same timeline, they've won the conference tournament 5 times, as well as 2 national titles. The ACC has 3 national champs and 7 Final Four participants in that timeframe, too. So yes, it's accurate to say that they haven't won the regular season conference title in 12 years, but it's also accurate to say that it's been the toughest conference in that time period, and they have proven their quality against OOC competition.

  10. Duke was sloppy all night, but has been a freight train these past few mins.

    1. Cdog923

      Cdog923

They inserted little-used Jordan Goldwire and amped up the defense. Outscored Louisville 35-10 over the last 9 minutes to erase a 23 point lead, the largest in K's tenure.

  11. Gordon injured for tonight's Omaha game, bummer.

  12. Highlight of the night was Kugler telling his partner that kit and caboodle comment was awful.

  13. John Prine passing has hit me like a ton of bricks. If you haven't heard him, give it a chance. He is a pure American legend. Lake Marie might be my favorite of his, but the whole catalog is special.

      krc1995

I think in the end, will better than Trout. Just a prediction, but Mookie was slow to get started and really didn’t pick up lots of hype til 2-3 years ago.  But my eyes don’t lie.

  15. Morant is the real deal.  Looks like Westbrook out there.

    1. FreddyIce

      FreddyIce

Oh my gosh yes. If I’m running any program and have to choose between Morant and Zion, it would be a really tough call. Ballers.

  16. Ohh jeez just saw Diaco on the OU sideline...makes sense.

  20. Thank you Dolphins!!

  21. That was brutal, but KC has a decade of this ahead of us.  This feels like the 2014 Royals.  Lean from it and win next year,

As long as Mahomes is around I think they will have more cracks at it.

  22. Things will get very interesting if this Prohm to Bama smoke is real.  The Mayor going to say no to his constituents if that job is open?

    1. Huskball

      Huskball

As much as it pains me to say it,  Huskers need to lose on Sunday. ISU needs to keep winning this weekend so Prohm is still involved with the team.

  23. Tom Herman went full Pelini.  You never go full Pelini.

I thought he was mad at the refs for throwing the flag on the super dork with the long hair.  But he wasn't upset earlier when the Texas line was holding on nearly every play.

    3. VectorVictor

      VectorVictor

@Omaha-Huskerso does that mean Tom is going to hire his brother as D-Coordinator and dabble in the nose candy?

Not sure what the definition of "Going Pelini" is since there's so many places Pelini went while he was here...

Wish Pelini would've went to Indy more while he was here..........................................................................................................................................
