James Taylor, heckuva show. The girlfriend and I tried to bring the median age down, but we were definitely the outliers

Look at all those great Dodger fans leave to go do all those other things to do in LA. Although it must be nice to be Bryce Harper instead of those dodger fans, at least he’s at home beating the traffic.

Lost my wallet Saturday between Mouth of the South parking lot, my brothers truck, and my house and pretty sure it was in the parking lot after tearing up the truck and house. Not a lot of cash in there, a few gift cards, but mainly concerned about replacing my license, my CCW, and my debit card. Flying overseas next Friday too, so hopefully they don’t get crazy if all I have is my passport. Shoot, I also had 30¢ off my next fill-up at Kroger gas stations

Caveat Emptor. Global Entry is great, no doubt about it. But it does not always guarantee the precheck line skipping. In most instances it will. But on a rare occasion you will be forced into the regular line with the rest of the plebes. It's never happened to be personally but I've flown with coworkers it has happened to. Still worth it if you get plucked once or twice if you fly often.
-
@darkhorse85 that actually just happened to me on our way back from Puerto Vallarta. My mother-in-law and wife also have Global Entry and we had no issues leaving the country, but on the way back, I got the ridiculous SSSS designation (for reasons I still don't understand). So, my pre-check didn't work at all on the way back, but the expressed customs portion did.
I was reading a popular travel blogger's website and he said he once flew Delta, got the SSSS, and it didn't disappear for months despite calls to his senators offices, the airlines, etc. Eventually it just disappeared. I didn't have it happen until I flew Delta, too, so I hope it's not a recurring theme the next time I travel.

Loving the Shaquem draft pick by the Hawks. Hope he is something special as they rebuild. Pretty cool his brother is on the team already too

Not 100% scientific, but I ponder if NU prefers their verbals to come on separate days to give that one kid individual attention and it’s speculated that there are more commits to come. With that said, who is next up today?

Not a fan of commentators acknowledging point spreads and bad beats on the broadcast, but that’s just my opinion.

@teachercd it's like the game commentators are giving you a long-distance dedication when they mention the bad beats.
-
I don’t think I have great concrete reasoning, but I don’t care to hear about bad beats or back door covers. I get that it’s for the niche fan and sports betting has become more acceptable, but I don’t want it to be added to the in-game narrative like referee analysis has become because I view it as taking away from the game itself. Leave that to the degenerates who already know these numbers without being told!

Prettt cool seeing in-state kids pass up a scholarship to a ND, SD, or WY school to come walk-on at Nebraska. Give it 3-4 years and watch these walk-ons develop and stabilize the program in a way that will eliminate a JUCO or two from each class. We already have good walk-on players, but the Frost effect will bring more top state talent to Lincoln, scholarship or not.

Quietest game I’ve ever been to. Sad to see that too many fans are as fickle as the players we complain about not buying in. As a guy behind us said, “I think too many fans show up to keep their streak alive than stand behind the team and make difference.”

Recently rediscovered two old phones from 2008-2010 and 2010-2012 and charged them up to see what was on them. Fortunately, nothing too incriminating, unless you count the music I downloaded and listened to during my hip-hop and r&b days haha. Anybody else come across these time capsules?

Seahawks going to win the super bowl next year. They let good players walk who stopped buying into Pete and Schneider - Bennett, Sherman, ET - and have improved each of the last two seasons. Make some offseason moves, improve OL and secondary, and I like their chances.

Should start a publication which interviews and critiques media members. After the OWH pity party, seems like a good place to start, after all, they want to speak on record and agree to access on everything.

I think it’s especially sad how the teachers have had so much power stripped away. I’m not asking for the treatment my parents got from nuns or teachers and spanking them or hitting them rulers (true stories) but it’s sad when teachers get put bad in their place when they show more care for a child than a parent does. My HS baseball coach just stepped down because he couldnt handle the parents anymore. He had to have a meeting with the principal who had the audacity to talk to a varsity coach about kids’ playing time...

Sir Yacht-zee has been pretty credible

So I met Bill Moos and his wife at work recently and aside from the super friendly nature everyone has mentioned, After sharing my Eastern Washington connection he asked where I grew up in Washington, I was surprised to learn that we went to the same high school and some of his connections over lapped my childhood experiences. Small world.

So who else got cited 10 minutes into kayaking for the first time ever in a cove - boat launch - for no life vest while completely sober?

Some statuses ago I half-jokingly mentioned how there should be a publication which grades publications. Today, Elon Musk is tweeting how he’s going to start something like that up.

This would possibly work, as long as there's a way to ensure outfits like Fox News don't hire an Indian tech outfit to spam results their way and make it one verified person = one vote.
That, and you can see the person's voting history, so if they're just going around pumping up excrement like Alex Jones, they can be flagged for review.

Something not right happening in Ann Arbor

The laptop froze out and kicked me out of my auction draft just as I was supposed to nominate a player, 2nd round of nominations, I had Ziggy at the top of my board and ended up being my first pick of the 2019 fantasy year. Hoping for stupid luck!

What’s the deal with Northwestern landing this transfer QB and why are Husker media tweeting about it like it’s important?

Seeing how Schaefer, Josh Peterson, Jack Mitchell all have tweeted about it and quote retweeted, couldn’t tell if there is an inside joke or not.
Its a nice pickup, but just curious if it’s legit hype. The reports heralding his recruiting ranking leaves me wondering “who cares?” 5* transfer QBs are the trend these days.

Woke up this morning not reaching for glasses and able to see 20/20 for the first time in almost 25 years. Prior to today, I couldn’t see anything in focus that was more than 6” in front me of (there’s a joke or two somewhere in there). Thank the Lord for smart people who invented LASIK because this is effin awesome.
-
So you finally were able to find your peter after 25 years? /jk
Seriously tho, congrats. Near perfect eyesight is often taken for granted but once you've had it and lost it, it kinda sucks. I was 20/15 most of my life.....until I hit my mid 40's. Still about 20/30, not terrible but reading small print and up close is another story. When Lasik can correct to where I don't need readers or bifocals I'm in.
-
It’s as small as I remember!
I envy those with good eyesight, they are fortunate people. I ended up developing a bad reaction to multi-purpose solution last year and couldn’t wear contacts for about 3-4 months until I switched to Clear Care solution, which helped but it created a paranoia about vision. Finally saved up and pulled the trigger. I see better now than I did with my contacts
