RedRedJarvisRedwine
Lets not forget about Gabe Miller, although the less we hear his name the better. Unheralded position yes, any less important, no. 1 Quote Link to comment
HuskerFowler
Went with Maliek Collins. I think by the end of the season we are going to be gushing over this kids potential at a position where we have been begging to have a difference maker. You can make a case for any of the above however. #17 class my ass. Quote Link to comment
Husker from Kansas
Cethan Carter, According to T-Mart he catches pretty much everything and he is going to see the field early and often. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him as an All BIG Freshman at the end of the season Quote Link to comment
Landlord
Yeah, when is the last time we had a great tight end for three or four years? Johnny Mitchel bailed early to the NFL. Matt Herian lost a couple years due to injury. Even Tracey Wistrom got tagged a couple times with injuries. Mike McNeill was fully capable of it and a hell of a player if he would have had the offenses/quarterbacks to sustain him. Quote Link to comment
The Dude
Maliek Collins, I hope. Quote Link to comment

Indeed, although he still had a remarkable career despite all of it. I think I remember hearing that he had two drops in his entire time here. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
I went with Gerry because if we get someone on the field who can run and tackle we'll all be amazed. Quote Link to comment

Count 'Bility
When our qb has receivers the likes of Bell, Turner, Enunwa, Westerkamp, and Moore, and he instead gushes about a freshman TE, then i would probably have to concur as well that Cethan Carter may be the real deal. 1 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
It is extremely difficult for a true freshman to be a breakout player as an interior defensive lineman. So, I'm going with Taylor, Newby or Gerry. Carter might be there based on need for depth at tight end. Quote Link to comment
Omaha-Husker
I picked Newby for his big play potential. Would not be surprised to see him bust a few long TDs this season. Quote Link to comment
Creighton Duke
If what the coaches are saying is true about running some wishbone (Taylor) and wing-T (Newby at wingback) kinda stuff, I feel like either of the backs could factor in. In the bowl game last year, Georgia was able to use both of their frosh running backs effectively on the field out of formations that played to their strengths (Marshall's elusiveness/speed, Gurley's power), sometimes at the same time. It'd be nice to see special packages for either and then maybe a package that incorporates both, but, then again, Georgia didn't seem to have any good upper-class RBs. EDIT: Ya know, thinking about it more, would you want to be on the other side of a wishbone of Zimmerer, Cross, and Taylor? And what kind of matchup problems do you create with Abdullah and Newby and/or Moore in a wing-T? Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
I picked Gerry since they are looking at putting him in the Peso role from the start. I would hesitate to choose a DL until they get some game time experience against opposing OL in the B1G. Carter could very well be a breakout due to thin depth at TE, but with so many WR options, who knows what his effectiveness will be. I would also hesitate on one of the Freshmen RB's unless Abdullah gets hurt or they kill it on Special Teams returning punts/kicks like Ameer did his first year. Quote Link to comment
Decked
I decided picked Gerry over Carter. But it wouldn't suprise me to see Carter get as much or more playing time than Gerry. Quote Link to comment
