Notsince1985
Miami's backup QB Kevin Olsen was just arrested for a DUI and fake license. As I said before, he's not the backup, he's currently the 3rd string, and with Williams back, he was going to be the 4th string behind Kaaya, Heaps and now Williams. Not a loss at all. The Dude
Kaaya played very well last game versus Arkansas State. They don't the have defense/athletes to compare to Louisville or Nebraska, but he played well nonetheless. I hope Bo turns the D loose. He can be shaken. Obviously, but since Kaaya is a true freshman, I'm looking for 2 things. Improvement, and opening up the playbook. I saw both last weekend. Whether that translates into playing well in Lincoln remains to be seen. Is your offensive line as turrble as they looked against Louisville? Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
It's gonna be a tough game, Miami is going to be fast, they've got athletes on their team and their defense seems to be pretty decent. Their offense though, that's another story, can't win if you can't score. I'm concerned about our defense's lateral speed as it pertains to some of our LB's. I don't know what to expect to be honest. they are coming to play and win...they have athletes, we will be challenged....a win would be enough for me. Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
I think we can put this as a "cautiously optimistic" game. But, then, we've seen how those have went in the past. Quote Link to comment
Flood
Interesting notes about QB Olsen, now 4th string for Miami. He WAS expected to be the starter, but has had numerous issues with the law. Nothing major, but repeated run-ins. I understand from some folks in the Jersey area that he has a brother in the NFL and the family doesn't have a great rep around their town in Jersey. Not saying that should indict him, but he's not off to a great start. After sitting out the bowl game last year for another incident, I am sure he's been on a short leash with the staff. This incident may get him removed from the team for good, I think. In any case, my point was that he WAS going to be the QB, was leading in the competition, and hamstrung himself with lack of control off the field. So, as good as the QB coming to Lincoln is, they expected Olsen to be the man. That suggests they are a bit less prepared than they might be otherwise. Hopefully that works to our advantage, and hopefully we don't need to count on that in the first place. I live in Tampa, so a few Miami fans around here. Most of the state is Seminole/Gator country, but I think that is more reflective of Miami's small size and sparse history lately. Quote Link to comment
