Count 'Bility
If Michigan State didn't win last year and we just lost, then we didn't win in 2012 and they just lost.this is usually the case everytime we win. Quote Link to comment

MichiganDad3
MSU had one good quarter where they scored 24 of their 27 points. They were outscored in three out of four quarters and after the half were outscored 28-3. The game was competitive for a half but Sparty was soundly outplayed overall in the game.Watch the game. The second quarter was when MSU found it's groove and absolutely outplayed Oregon. If this had happened in the 3rd quarter...they probably win that game. Oregon just proved to have the better coaching staff and adjusted. Had that game been in East Lansing I believe MSU keeps the momentum and holds on to win. Don't be fooled by the box score. MSU is right up there with Oregon...a place we haven't shown to be at yet. We've compiled a nice little record but this will be our first true test. I'm anxious to see how we do. So, the ducks smoked them for 3 quarters and have a better coaching staff, but MSU is just as good? If the game had been in east Lansing would the ducks coaching staff have been stupid? There was a reason the line was so high. 3 quarters? You know MSU went in leading at the half right? My gosh by your logic Michigan state killed us last year because the final score said so. The reason east Lansing makes a difference is because a hostile crowd can motivate the home team and keep them going during the down times and a momentum swing at home is much bigger than one on the road. This isn't hard. and vegas sets lines so an equal number will bet on each side...it's perception. MSU played better than I thought they would in week 2 on the road against a heisman contending quarterback. Yet a lot of people here want to give them no credit because the final score said they lost by 19. I mean are we really only 1 score better than McNeese state? MSU has taken care of all their creampuffs better than we did. They failed their big test but not miserably. Let's see if we fail ours. If Nebraska loses on the road by 19 are you going to immediately declare how much we suck or does it matter how we play? Flip it around. We're leading at half after rattling off 24 points and completely shutting down MSU. We collapse late in the 3rd and can't get back on track while the team looks shell shocked. Do we suck? Should nobody be concerned about us for the rest of the schedule? Look at UCLA-NU last year. NU dominated for a while, then got curb stomped. I was convinced that NU was not very good after that game. Quote Link to comment
olddominionhusker
Mark May just picked us and he's emphatic about it. Saw that, cringed the entire time. No reason to cringe. Look at May's record on pundit tracker. He has a 65% hit rate, an ROI of $1.12 and grades out an "A". He may be somewhat dickish but he knows his stuff. I love that he picked us Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Well, shoot. Oregon's not making Michigan State look great. Darnit. On the other hand....#fearAMEER, your time is now! Quote Link to comment

VectorVictor
+1 to the Count. Taco John himself can't argue with this omen. That post made me miss Taco John's for the first time since I graduated from DoNU. Quote Link to comment

If AA has another great outing, IMO, this will squarely put him in the national talk about the Hypesman. Not that he is not moving up the board, but folks will see him doing it against one of the top run D's in the country and compare his play and that of Mariota to a common opponent. (I know Mariota is a QB) Quote Link to comment

irafreak
Man, almost all those predictions are the same! I guess I don't see why people feel like MSU has a sweet offense? They beat up 3 crappy teams and got smoked by Oregon. I really think that these are two evenly matched teams. I'm not sure about their offense. But, they didn't get "smoked" by Oregon. They were ahead in that game in the third quarter. I think MSU totally got worn out at the end of that game. I'm hoping we can pound them all game and have the same affect at the end of the game this weekend. MSU had one good quarter where they scored 24 of their 27 points. They were outscored in three out of four quarters and after the half were outscored 28-3. The game was competitive for a half but Sparty was soundly outplayed overall in the game. Watch the game. MSU is right up there with Oregon...a place we haven't shown to be at yet. We've compiled a nice little record but this will be our first true test. I'm anxious to see how we do. I watched the game. MSU had one good quarter. That's it. It was a very good quarter yes but that's all it was. Oregon adjusted at the half. Climbed back in the third and pulled away in the fourth. Even if you want to throw out the late garbage touchdown, Oregon still wins that game going away and by double digits. And most importantly as the game went on MSU got worse. I'm sorry I'm just not impressed with that game. Well to each his own. Perhaps I over rate Oregon but I was surprised to see MSU play that well. On the road and still in it well into the second half in the second game of the season. We can beat MSU. TA's bad int's the last couple of weeks make me nervous. Our strange linebacker play makes me nervous. Ameer's knee last week makes me nervous. The history of big game meltdowns has me nervous. 5 games in we look like a different Bo Pelini team (in a good way). But Bo's teams have found ways to win lots of scrappy games. The schedule is set for a potentially special season. Can we finally take that conference title hanging in front of us? We've been really close before. Quote Link to comment
