stargazer
UCLA immediately went to work on our perimeter, just as Iowa did with their running game... and it was apparent that the loss of Gerry hurt. Fortunately we bent, but didn't break. Quote Link to comment
HuskerInLostWages
"I've seen a lot of good football plays and I thought that was a very good football play," UCLA coach Jim Mora said. "I was stunned that he got thrown out of the game, quite frankly." LINK You can actually see him talking to Gerry after the hit and during the review. Mora says great tackle at the very end and was joking with Gerry. Quote Link to comment
mrandyk
I'm not familiar with who does what, but does field judge have final say when reviewing a play? Because if so that explains everything and he should be relegated to pee wee football. Can't believe they even still have a job after that Miami-Duke fiasco. Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
One of the better camera shots was when they announced the ejection was being upheld, and they focused on Riley. The line judge behind him sits there shakimg his head in disbelief that the call was upheld. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
so how does this a$$hole get back on the field again? Quote Link to comment
husker98
Â Explains everything. How is this idiot still officiating games? Quote Link to comment
Bowfin
Explains everything. How is this idiot still officiating games? Â It's a money thing. He probably wouldn't give back the striped shirt and they can't reissue his whistle once it's been used. So a considerable investment has already been made in his career... Quote Link to comment
Sea of Red
Since Gerry was ejected from the game does anyone know if he was allowed to come back and celebrate with the team on the field after we won? Or are you just banished to the locke room? Quote Link to comment
skersfan
This kid has been ejected twice, both on questionable calls. My concern is it going to affect him in future games with how he tackles. There needs to be an apology or an explanation of what he did wrong. You have to play at 100%, will it affect him and will it draw more attention to his play because of this second bogus call. Any ideas. Short memory is the goal, but setting out a whole game for doing what you feel is right may make him question his effort. Quote Link to comment
Bigred_inSD
Gerry's getting kicked out of the Iowa game was deserved. This one wasn't. These refs need to lose their jobs and an official apology is needed. Quote Link to comment

skersfan
My guess is they were watching him more closely after the Iowa hit. Will that affect him and the calls against him next year. Quote Link to comment

Recievers nowadays are lowering their bodies to make their Hitt able box even smaller to draw flags like that. 2 Quote Link to comment

I'm thinking that depending on if and what type of penalty the refs get that it could be a benefit for NG next year. Refs will know who he is and may not want the scrutiny of the media if they make another bad decision. If NG is smart he won't change a thing and let the NFL decide whether he is more or less draftable by the way he tackles. Quote Link to comment
