Some of these guys might have been seniors this year.  But nonetheless, we're talking at least 15 scholarship players that left the team since Frost was hired.

How do guys that were recruited by Frost count against him? I get what you are saying but looking at that list....it was a bunch of guys for the most part so buried on the depth chart you wouldnt have seen them listed on the two deep.

I'm not saying anything should "count against" Frost.  I'm saying that the depth issue isn't solely because Riley didn't recruit enough players.

Word is McGriff has been moved to OLB.  He was seen wearing #46 (instead of #13) and working with the OLBs during pre-game warm-ups toward the end of the season.

No idea about his background there.  But he has a decent frame - 6-6, 230 lbs - and we are pretty stacked at TE so it seems worth a shot.

That's gonna be one lanky OLB...

I kind of think QB is just the way it goes, especially now-a-days.  I mean .... we only had two scholarship QBs in 1994 as well.  We'll have a third by the time the season starts and that's really all you can hope for in today's game.

I don't think the DT numbers are quite right.  Carlos Davis played DT most of the second half of the year.  DT has Davis, Daniels, Vainuku and should have an incoming JUCO.  Will need to bring in a HS guy pretty quickly though.

We have two pretty highly-rated ILBs coming in - Henrich and Hannah - so we're addressing that pretty well.

We're working on restocking CBs in this class.

I don't think it's really all that helpful to judge depth off of a chart that is missing a quarter of the scholarship guys.  That chart doesn't have this year's seniors or next year's freshmen.  So of course it's going to look short in a lot of areas.  There are only 61 guys on there and two are specialists so 59 total.  When you add 24 more guys in there, it will look a lot different.

Fair point and my comment about being light wasnt meant to be a freak out because we obviously have guys coming in, just was surprising to see on paper.

You dont truly know what the incoming guys will give you, but it is crazy to see only two true DT(3 if you include Carlos).

I am excited in some areas though. Roster attrition has allowed for Frost to get the right guys in here. Some of those obviously already dropped but now that they have had a year to coach the team, I expect the recruiting to be more successful. I think the guys left are bought in and so that will weed out guys who arent here to do things the right way.

That all being said, we NEED to hit on lineman in this class and future classes. I dont want to see us get out muscled by the likes of Iowa and Wisconsin anymore.

I'm trying to not read into this too much, but if we are offering a JUCO DE this late in the game, does this say something about our position with Ty Robinson?

I think it has more to do with looking for immediate impact players for defense and his recent decommit. We have room for both and we are trending up with Ty Robinson.

Bingo. I would say at this point Banks is the odd man out.

As Ziebol said I think Banks is out since we are the clear leaders for Ty right now. Jackson being a JUCO is more about Guy Thomas leaving. While it isn't official that he's left yet, the feeling around the program is he's gone.

Jackson has nothing to do with Guy Thomas' situation, they play two different positions.
