drfish
The itching desire to publicly crucify someone without more details coming out is what bothers me. Pretty ironic if you ask me. Look at how many people jumped on butch jones when the rumors started flying out of there this spring. There wasn't a, wait til the facts come out poster, everyone hoped on that bandwagon, as they did for Baylor. In case you're looking for details, LOOK AT THE FREAKING MUGSHOT. The guy is drunk off his ass. And for those that say, a majority of this board has probably driven drunk, way to deflect blame because 1000 wrongs makes a right. Some people need to reevaluate their priorities in life if you're justifying a person's actions for blowing a .15 and getting a 3rd DUI. Again, take off the rose-colored glasses and realize the severity of the issue. Please point out anyone who has posted anything indicating there is any justification for KW's actions. When I used the word justification, I meant in the sense of people rationalizing a year long suspension should suffice. Or rehab and then he should be good, deflecting blame that alcoholism is a disease, etc. There's a big difference between alcoholism and stupidity. My rationalizing is based solely on an action/ employment standpoint. If the legal side of things puts him in jail or whatever then his ability to be employed should be reassessed. Coo. Mine comes from a morality standpoint. Having a childhood teammate killed by a drunk driver is enough to sway my opinion that there isn't any excuse. I am not attempting to rationalize behavior that is clearly wrong. I am just saying that we do not have enough information to determine what the most appropriate action is. It depends on information that we do not know. And this is personally significant to me as well. My wife lost a family member to a DUI (passenger). I have a family member who was sober for many years and then had recurrence of active drinking and it killed him. I have had to call a family member to tell them we were able to resuscitate and transfer their loved one to a trauma center in critical condition, knowing that likely the best outcome possible was viable organs to transplant. Mary Pats BOB
What happened to the good old days where this just gets covered up because he's a Husker coach? Devaney would never stand for this sh#t! 3 Quote Link to comment
Huskers19911
Also, some posters have estimated that 90% of the board has driven at the same legal limit, or more than he has? That's a bit ridiculous, and if you think that is how everyone lives, you need new friends.Yeah, that always gets me when I see that in connection with a DUI (and we've had many of them over the years -- usually players, who get off fairly light). We're not talking about jaywalking here. Maybe I'm just not around a lot of people who drink much (or at all). It concerns me that there might be many people who look at this and think it's just normal shenanigans. That would have to mean a lot of dangerous, dangerous drivers on the roads. People who probably should be in jail if a revoked license isn't sufficient. I agree, with my friends, I would be surprised if any drove around drunk. I could guess which have, but, maybe 15%, opposed to 90. Quote Link to comment
krc1995
I know this man, he coached my sons at Tulane. He is a good good man. He is also probably one of the best WR coaches in the country. I would sign any son of mine to be coached by him tomorrow. I am so sorry for him and this latest dip into being human and weak. Maybe, the pressure your RED puts on these guys is part of the problem. No, we can't go there...you guys expect the best but persecute the worst. I know DUB...I know he is a good man, and I know he is terribly sorry for drinking more than he should have....just like 80% of you guys but he got stopped...if you did, who would notice.Maybe your son can double as his DD. There is no football excuse that can be sufficient. If you support firing Bo for having anger and character issues then you must support sending this repeat offender packing.Someone being a constant a-hole and someone having a drinking problem are worlds apart. Exactly. Being an ahole has never killed anyone. 1 Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Whoaaaa...are you saying your big alumnus...sittin up there in the big suites...isn't measuring a ).15?? Maybe 30 percent of your stadium leaving the game does that. I'm not lost I'm here revealing the truthyoure right. And if them scumbags get caught they get the book. They dont get to retain their 6 figure job coaching a game. God. So much hypocrisy. So little perspective. Sick world. This whole thread. This whole situation. 5 Quote Link to comment

Red Five
After a long day of traveling, this is sh**ty news to see upon arriving home. I don't know if he should be canned, but I can see the arguments both ways. Quote Link to comment
Johnny Eutaw
Very disappointing, to say the least. His stock was definitely on the rise and while I hate to say it, he likely would've been moving on to bigger and better things in the near future if things continued to go well. We'll be fortunate if we don't lose our WR commits over this, although I fully expect it. Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
#SavageProfessionalism is not drinking and driving. How the hell are you able to teach students about #SavageProfessionalism when you act like that? 4 Quote Link to comment
dvdcrr
the university recognizes that if he goes, kiss goodbye a great deal of recruiting momentum and at least two maybe more 4-5 star players. As always money is the driving force, so the University will keep him. Now if he was a math professor, or in the music department for example, see ya. eta: they will keep him if at all possible, in light of legal issues which due to his stature with the team, will magically take care of themselves Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
That being said, a year suspension isn't out of the question. Quote Link to comment
