Mavric
Quote The man accused of a summer burglary of Scott Frost’s home in Lincoln entered a guilty plea Thursday, according to the Lincoln Star Journal. Andrew M. Williams, 21, faces up to 20 years in prison as he awaits sentencing in January for his crimes. Williams and two other burglars are believed to have entered the Nebraska head football coach’s home July 27 through a garage door and made off with roughly $50,000 worth of memorabilia. Police arrested Williams two days after the break in, and two 17-year old involved with Williams have charges pending in adult court. 247 Quote Link to comment
knapplc
20 years? For taking some stuff you don't know is worth $50K? That seems excessive. Quote Link to comment

On one hand, yes that punishment is absurd and... doesn't at all seem justifiable. On the other hand, how many men have been in prison for just as long if not longer for even more harmless things like smoking weed? 1 Quote Link to comment

skers83
He most likely will not get the full 20 years and if he is sentenced for 20 will get out early if he behaves. I work in the system and agree 20 years would be excessive but the system doesn't work well much of the time. Makes you wonder about the people deciding the sentences when people get more time for stealing or weed than someone who commits armed robbery or harms a child. 1 Quote Link to comment

I’m ok with him going to jail but how can 20 years for burglary make sense when there are people committing assault (of all varieties) getting less? 1 Quote Link to comment

He’s only 21 - just bringing that up because he hasn’t had a lot of time to do a lot of crap and be punished for it. They can’t have tried a long jail sentence yet. And by long I mean 5 years.
