Well, it is time-stamped well after Walters was let go and Lubick was hired. However, you can't believe everything on the internet so good for you waiting for reliable sources. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

84HuskerLaw
Hm. No employer wants to keep an unwilling employee normally but fired = let go. Often it’s sorry you’re leaving us but wish you well. The timing (shortness in this case apparently) suggests to me as a complete outsider that Walters indeed was keeping his future options open to greener pastures for awhile. It’s too bad for both parties as the NU job is a very good one that paid VERY well imo. Whether Walters is HC material remains to be seen. He seems to feel confident in himself but his pressers weren’t all that impressive though it’s likely he felt he had to be submissive to Frost and maybe not speak as freely as he would have preferred. He never seemed to play the OC role all that publicly really so maybe he felt he was more symbolic in that sense. Just a guess and not being critical as to any of this. I liked him and feel he represented the program and school well. Really all Frost’s coaches seem to have done likewise. College coaching is a big game of musical chairs. Most resumes are replete with numerous brief stints (1 or 2 years or so) all over. Great for experience and diversity but not so much as to loyalty and stability. Players may prefer some consistency as opposed to a bunch of changes. Eventually they all need to learn to cope with change - a career will be filled with abrupt changes etc. Quote Link to comment

Danimal
Appears Frost gave him and DeWitt some time to get another job but Walters didn't get any bites, not for any OC/HC jobs anyway. Not sure what to believe in terms of Joseph and Lubick but I'm happy with this hire either way. 1 Quote Link to comment

No one else wants him either 2 2 Quote Link to comment

We're visiting top WR targets, and bring Frost, Held, and Mario... IMO, there will be staff movement this offseason. Sorry, I've been traveling. Just came to bump post #2. 2 Quote Link to comment

Being paid $700,000 / year means you're a multi-millionaire if you ride your contract out. As such, "greener pastures" in this context isn't likely. Translation: He was fired. Quote Link to comment

Toe
He had to have reached that mark at least a decade ago, probably more like 15 years. Quote Link to comment

Pretty obvious now that he and DeWitt had been fired unofficially for a while but we held-off on making things public in hopes of both finding a soft landing. Walters didn't find one and we had to pull the plug to get Lubick on-board. Quote Link to comment
Red Five
Fire up the “not done with staff changes” rumor mill again. Offensive Quality Control coach in DFW recruiting. So who’s not on the road? Quote Link to comment
