  1. In Mississippi? That has to be a record for the most people that ever passed a test in that state. Ba-zing

  3. Touching someone’s neck and raping them are entirely different. Ones a behavior that needs correction, ones a behavior that needs prison time. You’re problem is you assume everyone thinks this is a R vs D thing. You’ve expressed that over and over. Look man, all I’ve said is I want the truth, I don’t care what party Biden represents. If he raped her then f#&% him, he should be out of the race ASAP. If he touched her neck 27 years ago and it made her uncomfortable, I’m sorry but that’s not even in the same discussion as rape.

  5. Trim the expendable staff who don't make a lot of money because the $50+ million a year in TV revenue isn't enough to go around, and we can't be reducing the pay of the millionaire 1% staff. Obviously neither is a real option. Note: I'm only responding to language of the bullet point haven't read through the article. We've basically been printing money the last few years, and we might need to lay people off?

  6. In case no one else looked, CDC says there are 12,000-61,000 flu deaths per year in the U.S. since 2010. 61,000/365 = 167 per day. So our deaths per day right now, when we obviously aren’t at the peak of this thing, is 3X that of the flu.

  7. So that's why it ended up at 6 feet. Some moron couldn't convert it to 3.28 feet and thought if he about doubled it that would be good enough.

  8. But...but...but.....our recruiting ranking......we are better than____________(fill in the blank with MN, IA, NW, WI)........we have AM 3.5.....all we continue to do is hope and dream and maybe, just maybe, the pieces fall into place. In all reality, we are no different than any other NE team in the past X number of years until we prove it on the field. It used to mean something when you said NE/Lincoln/Memorial Stadium.....now, not so much, just chasing phantoms from the past as college football left us in the dust

  9. I get it but if they look over the people that work in the offices and find that there are some that really are not needed, well, what is wrong with eliminating positions that are not needed? Say you ran a business and you started off with two receptionists but after a year you realized that you didn't need two of them, that one was plenty. What would you do? Not everything is evil, not everything is a boss sitting in his ivory tower stroking his moustache as he thinks about who to fire for no reason.

  10. This board once again proves to be, for the most part, utterly reasonable with difficult topics. Reflecting on this and the allegations against Kavanaugh, the system is horribly ill-equipped to do anything about these decades-old accusations. For the sake of everyone involved you hope this one isn't credible. There's certainly a lot of reason to remain skeptical for now.

  13. Hell, I am nervous about SDSU. It took AA to beat McNeese St........ As to the back 5 being brutal, IIRC they all finished top 15 last year....That's pretty rough. Even without the rankings, I haven't seen NU do anything yet to make me think we can beat those teams yet.

  14. Despite only playing part time in one year (2018), he has 2 picks, 2 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. Not sure how you want to count the fumble recovery, so that's either 4 or 5 turnovers in minimal time. The only players we have with more career turnovers forced are Domann (5 FF, 1 FR over 3 years) and Taylor-Britt (3 INTs, 4 FF, 2 FR over 2 years, but almost all were last year). I don't know of a good way to get the number of snaps played, but it wasn't a lot in 2018 and he got 5 turnovers. You can debate the proven part based on noot playing full time I guys, but you don't just stumble into that number of plays without being a playmaker.

  17. I think the bold is correct. And I think what they're about to admit is this virus is everywhere, that community spread has already happened to a huge degree, and we need to prevent those of us who do have it from giving it to those who don't.

  18. The WHO website says it is not airborne. So that raises two questions. Why would the CDC supposedly be going to recommend everyone wear masks and why are healthcare workers so concerned about not having enough masks? Seems people who should be, aren't on the same page. If it's in fact not airborne, wouldn't the sole purpose of wearing a mask be to keep an infected person from coughing/spraying onto other people and surfaces? Doesn't seem it would help a non-infected person prevent becoming infected

  21. One of my twitter friends unlocked his account and gave permission to share his story. Kearney, NE has active cases of community spread, and for some reason the hospital is telling them to stay home & not tell anyone. Here's his story: Account is unlocked. Profile shows my last name. A twitter storm is brewing & I will not hold back b/c Kearney, NE is at risk. 2 G’parents have tested positive for COVID-19. My step-mom is in isolation awaiting her test result. All the while, others are at risk. A thread...1/x As of this thread, Buffalo County in Nebraska has 4 positive cases of COVID-19. 2 of those 4 cases are within my family, my grandparents. The possibility of the third case could be that of their in home nursecare provider. That we may never know. A timeline of events...2/x On the weekend of March 14/15, my step mother travelled back to stay w/ my G’parents to attend a funeral of a loved one. She arrived on Sunday 3/15 and spent the night at my G’parents house. The funeral was Monday 3/16. My step-mom is teacher & social distancing was a thing 3/x In fact, her school had already been shutdown a week or two prior and they were already doing online classes. She had socially distanced herself like so many other. My step-mom and her partner (he’s retired) hasd practiced CDC guidelines of social distancing and awareness 4/x My step-mom (Jenny) came out. She explained to her parents (my G’parents) that she would see them Sunday & Monday AM, then she was off to the funeral and she was back to an Omaha suburb (her home). She might be around people at the funeral and why risk the exposure. 5/x Jenny went to the funeral & went home never exposing my G’parents (in their early 90’s). Tuesday evening 3/17, my grandmother fell inside her home. An ambulance was called. She refused to go to the hospital. Later it was determined she broke 3 ribs. She’s tough & stubborn. 6/x Jenny kept tabs on her parents following the fall. Thursday came and my Gpa called his daughter Jenny. Your mom can barely walk. I can’t take car of her. Can you come back home and help? Somewhere around this time their in home nurse are provider was told she couldn’t come. 7/x Jenny arrives Thursday night or Friday. Gma is bruised as all hell & sore. Gpa starts feeling ill next weekend. By Sunday he’s bad. Jenny asks if she should call for an ambulance. This old farmer looks up at his daughter and says yes, I think so. Gpa is taken away to Kearney. 8/x Gpa is achy, confused, running a fever and is admitted. He is diagnosed with having pneumonia. These are all symptoms of a potential COVID-19 patient. He is not tested. Gpa lives at the hospital for a few days while being treated. Jenny remains with Gma. Gma goes south next. 9/x By Wednesday 9/25, Gma is in bad shape. The hospital calls, we are ready to release your dad. What? Jenny replies. My mom is really ill, I’m calling an ambulance to bring her in. Just hold on a minute. Hospital: we can release your dad directly to the parking lot for pickup. 10/x Gma arrives w/ Jenny. What isn’t fully clear is if my Gpa was fully released. He either wasn’t or he was, got home & then came back the next day. Either way, Gma arrives in Kearney at the Hospital. COVID-19 symptomatic. The staff talks, let’s order a test. Jenny - what?!? 11/x Hospital: have you been exposed to you mom? Jenny - yes. I’ve been around her for over a week. Nurse 1: go home. Self isolate. Don’t tell anyone. Jenny: I need to talk to my dad (he’s still hospitalized) hence I don’t think he ever left. Nurse 1: go. Jenny gets escorted out. 12/x Nurse 2: wait, you’ve been around your mom? Jenny: again, yes! Nurse 2: you need to get tested. We need to test you dad. Jenny gets tested and told to go back to her parents house and not tell anyone. Well, she does AND rightfully so tells everyone. This virus has no secrets 13/x Jenny starts making calls. G’parents isolated in the hospital. And she waits. Luckily, testing in NE is around 24 hours now. I talk to my dad Wednesday night 3/25. I heard your G’parents have pneumonia & might be hospitalized. Oh crap, I’ll call Jenny tomorrow not knowing 14/x Not knowing what is to come. Thursday night 3/25 I call my step-mom Jenny. What is going on? I heard Gma might be in the hospital with pneumonia. What comes next is a ton of bricks. The convo is almost an hour of which I remember 15 minutes. I called back today to clarify. 15/x As of tonight, my Gma has tested positive. My Gpa has also tested positive. My step-mom Jenny cleaned out their fridge in Shelton, NE and drive back to an Omaha suburb to self isolate and await her results. My G’parents aren’t coming home anytime soon. 16/x My step-mom should know any day now. She is isolated at home and away from everyone. I share this story as my grandparents suffer/recover b/c I am afraid. My Gma is off oxygen for now. My Gpa is not. He’s confused. My biggest issue is w/ the Kearney hospital. 17/x The Kearney hospital (and I’m not assessing blame) has a 93 yr old man with symptoms in line with COVID-19 and admitted him yet had him in their care from a Sunday until a Wednesday and tried to release him. He is COVID-19 positive. There are 4 hospital days of exposure 18/x 4 days in a hospital and yet no one thought to test him. They determined he was ready to be released until his wife (my Gma) was admitted that very same day. I’m not blaming the in home care nurse that went into quarantine. What I am blaming is a system of failures. 19/x They could have been exposed in numerous way. What I do know is this. 2 of 4 confirmed Buffalo Co cases are my family. My G’parents are both positive for COVID-19. My step-mom Jenny is likely next. My Gpa wasn’t tested & remained at a Kearney hospital for 3 days. 20/x For 3 days, he was hospitalized with all the symptoms yet never tested exposing so many not knowing that full PPE was necessary. He’s on oxygen trying to recover. In isolation. Gma in isolation w/o oxygen. Jenny in isolation awaiting results. 21/x I share this not to spread fear but awareness. Did someone at the Kearney hospital mess up? Yes. “Go home, isolate & don’t tell anyone” It’s time to tell everyone @OWHnews @JournalStarNews @KearneyHub Newspapers - follow my TL on this thread & spread awareness. Be safe. 22/22

I think it would prove to the kids that the "system", "methodology" etc is working....It'd show the fans as well... .If we could find a way to win those close games (even splitting last years 2-4 record) we would've gone bowling....Eventually we will figure it out right?????????

  31. https://covidtracking.com/data/ Been looking for this for a minute and finally found it. This is US testing data by state. As I suspected, NY has completed 100,000 more tests than any other state. Washington is #2 with 45,000 tests. What's interesting is, only hotspots seem to be getting alot of testing. Most states have under 5,000 completed tests. Louisiana has done 20,000 or so tests and is one of the fastest growing areas in the country per million people. Mississippi right next door has done less than 4,000 tests. New Orleans is 45 minutes from the coast of MS and I know for a fact New Orleans residents are fleeing for their second homes in MS. Other residents are coming to MS to take advantage of more relaxed restrictions. This is exactly why the spread isn't going to stop anytime soon. Not only are we too lax and disorganized with our social distancing, but we aren't getting ahead with testing across the board. Testing is just happening in places deemed hot spots. I wonder why those places are so hot. I'm sure if other states were tested at the same level many of those states would be considered hot spots as well. We are so far behind this thing it seems like any sort of containment is a fairytale.

  32. Just some kind of "leadership" we have here.... https://www.cnn.com/videos/health/2020/03/13/coronavirus-questions-answered-town-hall-mh-orig.cnn/video/playlists/coronavirus/ ..."the governor of Washington", "the woman in Michigan"... How any self-respecting woman could, in their right mind, vote for this man just blows my mind. I can honestly say I am embarrassed to be a citizen of the country that elected this piece of garbage as POTUS.

  36. No the problem is we are on the cusp of a pandemic DURING an election year. The media and Trump are playing verbal catfish like normal, the Dems and the Repubs are leveraging and we all suffer because of it. People aren't dying from Trump tweeting and it's getting absolutely stupid to continue pointing to that. People are dying because this administration drug it's feet. Because the last administration supposedly didn't restock properly. Because foreign countries mismanaged a pandemic tht could've been controlled. But yeah let's focus on Trump tweets and open ended optimism during a crisis. I don't like him baiting reporters right noe, I think it's irresponsible even for him. But my god, this is next level. People suggesting Trump is at fault for people drinking FISH TANK CLEANER! He should have said HEY DON'T DRINK THE s#!t! Because a lot of people aren't coherent enough to realize coffee is hot. But holy hell. Rant over. Just, man alive, there are more important things at hand than pushing narrative blame at the politicians you didn't like before this all started. This is a group effort of a disaster.
