  1. Not to sound overly harsh. But, that's their problem. For the vast majority that are in the portal, it was their choice. Especially, players that go to the portal after maybe a year or two in a program. They have the choice to stay, work to get better and try to see the field.....or, quit and transfer. I guess I don't feel an obligation that the NCAA should be the ones that have to figure out where these kids can go to find another scholarship.

  2. In addition to this teaching in schools we'd need to have some sort of deprograming and teaching for adults.

  3. Maybe he couldn't comply. https://www.patreon.com/posts/77869102?utm_campaign=postshare_creator I watched a number of the videos and unless I missed something the kid they murdered was the one trying to deescalate the situation until it became obvious his life was in serious danger. So he ran. This Scorpion unit is/was sketchy as f#&%. Maybe Nichols knew just how sketchy. This doesn't seem like a one-off to me.

  4. We’ll get down to 85 with no problem. There’s no other choice, we have to. More scholarships are not the solution unless you really want Bama, tOSU, etc. to stockpile more talent and leave less for everyone else. Kids are way less prone to wait their turn these days. It’s not like the old days where a player would wait until they were a junior or senior to see a lot of game reps. They can enter the portal and move up, laterally or down as befits them. Nobody owes these kids a scholarship just because they want to play football. Those that are good enough will find one. Those that aren’t, well, welcome to the real world. More schollies is a horrible idea.

  6. My point to the post is that the new Georgia laws were and are fine. Texas tried to slip in some bad and nonsensical provisions to their law that I think were eliminated, but I never had a problem with Georgia’s laws. The complaints that came out from Dems including the president calling them Jim Crow 2.0 just didn’t hold up. It was just politics as usual.

  7. You put a lot of blame on the coaches for not developing individual players, but the player has a responsibility on developing, too. Someone has to play. If a kid gets brought in, and isn't contributing to the team (regardless of reason) in a few seasons, it's reasonable for a coach to suggest to that player that he moves on. If a player is talented and works hard enough, he will most likely be able to get another D1 offer. Only the guys who don't belong at D1 level at all are going down to D2. You bring this up because NU is at over 100 scholarship players headed into spring. I think this is a 1-year issue where Rhule has inherited an underachieving team and is looking to make improvements. So, honored the scholarship offers from the previous staff, added a number of offers to kids who weren't previously offered, and has brought in a good number of transfers. Rhule is doing this because he thinks the roster needs turned over, and that's not a terrible thought given NU's record over the past few years. Going forward, Rhule and his staff will have a better idea of the talent on the roster every year, it should be easier to manage, and I don't think NU will go into the spring with this many scholarship players.

  14. This is largely a by-product of the extra year they granted due to COVID. In a few years when every single student athlete is no longer in college/eligibility remaining then it should return closer to normal.

  18. That’s a very good point that didn’t register with me until you pointed it out. He did seem to be getting contradictory instructions. That could make it possibly impossible to comply. Considering the cops obviously didn’t want to de-escalte, there’s a very good chance it was part of their sickening game.

  24. a) It's not actually using the entire roof - there are similar looking roof tiles that do not contain PV (Tesla calls them "architectural-grade steel panels" in their literature vs the "glass solar tiles"). It's a lot more expensive to use PV tiles on the entire roof, but that's possible with both the Tesla roof and with PV panels installed on top of a roof. b) That's an opinion that's going to vary. I like the look of the Tesla roof too, but I also think PV panels on a roof look fine as well. c) Yes. Re-roofing is an advantage of the Tesla roof, but solar installers will recommend replacing the roof when installing PV panels (which is exactly what you're doing when you install a Tesla roof), so I'm not sure it's much of an advantage. I'd go further and suggest using 30+ year roofing when installing solar panels on top of a roof (and longer would be better), so that the roof lasts as long as the panels. Install PV is expensive, but prices have been dropping quickly for decades now. It's the installation and system design that have become the major cost driver. Not sure if Tesla's solar roof will matter much in that regard. Maybe they'll make some headway in making it easier to install, but I'm skeptical. Total installed cost decline:

  25. Zeta-Jones must have gotten a new agent or something. I haven't seen her do anything for years, but now she pops up on two new series. Wednesday is very clever and entertaining. CZJ is also the bad guy in a new National Treasure series on Disney+. However, that show is terrible. My family loves the National Treasure movies, but we only watched a couple episodes of the new series. It is garbage. Disney has been trying to shoehorn too many of its profitable franchises into lackluster series for their streaming service. Willow sucks. The Marvel and Star Wars content is hit or miss. Every new Simpsons short is an abomination of sadness.

  31. Looks like Husker.com updated the roster. Dayvin Johnson moved on and I am guessing Guthmiller is dropping baseball to concentrate on his studies. Covid rules allow for a roster of 40 and they non-count players with the covid year so that's an extra 3 I think. That would leave 1 extra. It could be an injury waiver but I am guessing there are walkons that will redshirt this year and they don't count against the 40. https://huskers.com/sports/baseball/roster

  32. F------------------ Rhule hasn't posted any sweet dancing videos on his InstantGram or TikTok. He hired a few position coaches that I've never heard of and I know ALL the positions coaches in all of footbaw He too busy posting emoticons on his Tweeter which is why we haven't won a game and don't have the #1 recrootin class!
