How is Buzzard Billy's in the Haymarket area? Thinking I'll get my crawfish on tomorrow night

Well, I thought BB’s was great. Liked the atmosphere, they had a good beer selection (had Kinkaider Devils Gap Jalapeño Ale) and my meal was excellent. I went with the crawfish platter (Etouffee and fried tails) and fried gator appetizer. My fave was the Crawfish Etouffee and rice. My wife and daughter really liked their meals also. Wanted to round it out with Bananas Foster but couldn’t talk anybody into splitting it with me.
Earlier in the day we had lunch at Mellow Mushroom. Was very happy with that too. Their lunch special, $6.99, is a steal. Had half order of wings and a bowl of mushroom soup. It was a pick two deal, also could’ve gone with a salad or hoagie or slice of pizza. Maybe the best value, least costly meal I’ve seen in a long time.

@teachercd No. We were pretty occupied all day. Plus my old frat (Kappa Sigma) doesn’t exist as I remember it anymore. They got their charter pulled shortly after I left and lost the house. They may have made a comeback, colony or something, but I don’t think they have an actual house on campus right now.

How many junk emails do you average at your primary email address on a daily basis?

@JJ Husker, I don't know of an effective spam filter for an in-house email server, but there's gmail available for businesses called G Suite. It's probably not what you want, but I've worked for a couple companies that used it and it's great.
-
The email I use for my business seems to be pretty clean, maybe a couple a day (get one daily from a local youth baseball/softball league I coach my kids in).
Now my personal email, the one I put down on everything that requires an email address? If feels like 6,000 a day, but it's probably more like 30-40

How tough is it to get out of the Red parking garage in the Haymarket after a game?

@teachercd was that right after the game or about an hour later? I wouldn't be opposed to having a beer and waiting 1-1.5 hours before trying to get out. But I don't want to spend an hour trying to get out.
-
@JJ HuskerIt was pretty close to right after the game.

Hurricanes More like slight breeze, amirite?

Hurry Hurry Hurry...
Tonight may be your last opportunity to simultaneously watch the mediocre brothers (Mike & Miles) coaching live sporting events.

I brought my pencil. Gimme something to write on

I figured @teachercd would be all over this one

I didn't think it was regression. I was wrong. This team may be worse than the one Frost inherited from Riley. So many things to fix....Everything.

I don’t watch a lot of pro ball so maybe somebody can explain how the Vikings ever made the playoffs. Are they always this bad or was today an anomaly?
-
I guess this is what I get for laughing at the lack of offense in the Michigan Iowa game. Nebraska says hold my beer.
-
I may officially be a Broncos fan but dang, I love watching Mahomes and the Chiefs play. And that Edwards-Helaire kid is a great addition for them.
-
I really despise high cleaning day.
-
I'm going to make a statement that some may take offense with or accuse me of stereotyping. I'm not concerned because I know it to be 100% true.

I've really been liking this Jersey Mike's that opened here recently.

I agree @ladyhawke the bread is awesome and there must be a solid 1” of meat on that Super Sub. I also love their oil and vinegar and seasoning. The meatballs are like 2”-2.5” diameter full size meatballs cut in half. Where is the drooling emoji? Think I know what I’m having for lunch.

I’m pretty sure that BTN is now available on Comcast/Xfinity nationwide once again. I just added back the sports & entertainment package and it is working at my house.

IDGAFAM. This impending board "upgrade" may be coming at just the right time.

Oh if I ever make that decision, I will try to make it entertaining and memorable for sure. But this IDGAF was just for football this season. I’ve bottomed out. I really don’t expect to win another game this season. We could have Rutgers on the schedule and I’d still be surprised if we found a way to beat them.

If anybody has a use for some free 8’ or 4’ fluorescent tubes, see my topic in Classifieds.

If you haven’t watched Frost speaking to US Strategic Command on leadership, do yourself a favor and get in here.

It is now officially Rocktober.

It sure would be nice if interesting new topics stayed listed on the front page longer instead of being rapidly replaced by redundant recipes and fleeting thought threads.

Just a reminder- Support your favorite restaurants through this trying time.
Many who were forced to close are still doing carryout.

Justin Timberlake? Has to be the worst SB halftime show in years, amirite?

Keep a grinnin’ til the weekend come. Just a pinch between the cheek and gum.
