  1. How is Buzzard Billy's in the Haymarket area?  Thinking I'll get my crawfish on tomorrow night

Well, I thought BB’s was great. Liked the atmosphere, they had a good beer selection (had Kinkaider Devils Gap Jalapeño Ale) and my meal was excellent. I went with the crawfish platter (Etouffee and fried tails) and fried gator appetizer. My fave was the Crawfish Etouffee and rice. My wife and daughter really liked their meals also. Wanted to round it out with Bananas Foster but couldn’t talk anybody into splitting it with me.

Earlier in the day we had lunch at Mellow Mushroom. Was very happy with that too. Their lunch special, $6.99, is a steal. Had half order of wings and a bowl of mushroom soup. It was a pick two deal, also could’ve gone with a salad or hoagie or slice of pizza. Maybe the best value, least costly meal I’ve seen in a long time.

Visit any old bars or the old frat?

    4. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

@teachercd No. We were pretty occupied all day. Plus my old frat (Kappa Sigma) doesn’t exist as I remember it anymore. They got their charter pulled shortly after I left and lost the house. They may have made a comeback, colony or something, but I don’t think they have an actual house on campus right now.

  2. How many junk emails do you average at your primary email address on a daily basis?

I guess just stop using your work email when you sign up for porn sites.

@JJ Husker, I don't know of an effective spam filter for an in-house email server, but there's gmail available for businesses called G Suite. It's probably not what you want, but I've worked for a couple companies that used it and it's great.

      B.B. Hemingway

The email I use for my business seems to be pretty clean, maybe a couple a day (get one daily from a local youth baseball/softball league I coach my kids in).

Now my personal email, the one I put down on everything that requires an email address? If feels like 6,000 a day, but it's probably more like 30-40

  3. How tough is it to get out of the Red parking garage in the Haymarket after a game?

@teachercd was that right after the game or about an hour later? I wouldn't be opposed to having a beer and waiting 1-1.5 hours before trying to get out. But I don't want to spend an hour trying to get out.

    3. ZRod

      ZRod

Left with about 5 minutes to go in the USA game and had zero issues getting out. If you stay the whole game it's going to suck. There are 3 or 4 garages all trying to empty into the same street.have a beer in the railyard for an hour or so then head out.

@JJ HuskerIt was pretty close to right after the game.

Ha, I was just thinking that sh#tshow they put on the field today probably had a lot more to do with them losing recruits than our bag men did.

  7. I didn't think it was regression. I was wrong. This team may be worse than the one Frost inherited from Riley. So many things to fix....Everything.

  8. I don’t watch a lot of pro ball so maybe somebody can explain how the Vikings ever made the playoffs. Are they always this bad or was today an anomaly?

Yeah SF is/was a cut above Minnesota.  Shanahan is a wizard with his run scheme and SF's D Line is nastyyyyyy.

The Vikes are pretty good, but the 49ers are very good. Minnesota's playcalling is always questionable, and that hurt them quite a bit today.

    4. huskered17

      huskered17

The Vikings are usually a decent to good team. They just didn't have it yesterday. 49ers had a lot to do with that.

Oh well, next year. I've been saying that for a long long time. lol

      GBR!!!

  9. I guess this is what I get for laughing at the lack of offense in the Michigan Iowa game. Nebraska says hold my beer.

  10. I may officially be a Broncos fan but dang, I love watching Mahomes and the Chiefs play. And that Edwards-Helaire kid is a great addition for them.

I’m supposed to hate the Chiefs but I just can’t. Don’t tell anybody but I’ll probably be pulling for them even when they play Denver. Maybe because I don’t like to lose...

I road with my female Chinese friend once.

Let's just say she fit the stereotype and I will try to avoid ever doing it again. In her (and probably others') defense, she had only started driving a year before that. But she told me she had to take the driving test 3 times.

I agree @ladyhawke the bread is awesome and there must be a solid 1” of meat on that Super Sub. I also love their oil and vinegar and seasoning. The meatballs are like 2”-2.5” diameter full size meatballs cut in half. Where is the drooling emoji? Think I know what I’m having for lunch.

I get the same sandwich every time I go there Comfortably Numb. #3-Ham/provolone w/mayo and tomato only-salt the tomatoes. That bread is so fresh!

Oh if I ever make that decision, I will try to make it entertaining and memorable for sure. But this IDGAF was just for football this season. I’ve bottomed out. I really don’t expect to win another game this season. We could have Rutgers on the schedule and I’d still be surprised if we found a way to beat them.

Is it a completely radical idea that it should be against board rules to create a new thread only to post a link that anyone could Google on their own?(and that is obviously not intended for interaction or the use of any board member except for the creating party)

It wasn’t a good halftime show at all—hell, he didn’t sing for half of it.

Still, there’s been worse. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, while a great swing band, did a s***tacular, cringe-inducing nightmare of a halftime show in the 90s IIRC.
