  1. I have heard chattet about WR and DB. Any big names left for the lines?

    1. The Dude

      The Dude

      Damion Daniels is big.

    2. NUance

      NUance

      Double D is big!

    3. The Dude

      The Dude

If we get him it will be a very good defensive line class.

  2. I know that I am Captain Buzz kill but it woyld be more comforting to be building up our presence at the LOS instead of at WR

The rules are gonna be changing where all 11 players are eligible receivers!!!

    3. zoogs

      zoogs

but, we also have a sizable need at WR. great to take care of that when the opportunity is here.

  3. Webster shot himself in the foot. Huskers lose four in a row. Errrrrr

  4. Mike Riley couldn't be expected to out recruit the big boys during his tenure with Oregon State you guys. So nobody would pick OSU over Riley at NU. Wait....

  5. Bo to the title game. Great. Just great.

Getting to a championship game was not a problem for him.

  6. What is the final number of recruits that the Huskers will sign for 2017?

I could see a DB move on, especially if we fill out the 2017 DB class with studs. I could maybe see an OL move on. Other than that, I don't think anyone...but it always seems to surprise ya.

I'm thinking a RB might decide to go. Adam Taylor or Ziggie. I have no info just going by the past.

  7. If Colorado can be resurected from dumpster fire to the brink of a conference title in four years, how the hell haven't the Huskers won a league title?

    1. It'sNotAFakeID

      It'sNotAFakeID

      1) Big Ten was far better than the Pac 12 this year.

      2) I believe Colorado has a really experienced team this year.

    2. It'sNotAFakeID

      It'sNotAFakeID

      3) Colorado hasn't won the Pac 12 yet.

      4) Nebraska was an OT away from heading to Indy.

  8. Is that silent commit thing still a thing, or is everyone saying we already lost whoever it was?

he silently de-commited, so they average out.

What if he's really good at being silent? Could he still be there???!!!

  9. Hoosiers lost to Wake Forest. The Deacons beat Tulane, 7-3. In light of that, Gerry DiNardo offers that Indiana has the edge on Nebraska both ofensively and defensively. Makes perect sense right? What a JOKE!

Indiana is legit, and we should be on alert.

  10. Sure wish we had a bowl tie in that pitted a Big 10 team against a Big 12 team. Far as I can tell, one doesn't exist. A bowl game for the Huskers against a former Big 12 rival would be fun.

    1. RedRedJarvisRedwine

      RedRedJarvisRedwine

ID BE AFRAID WE'D GET PIGEON HOLED INTO THAT BOWL EVERY YEAR. I MEAN ASSUMING WE QUALIFY FOR IT.

    2. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

I'm sort of keeping my eyes fixed on a higher level bowl; Rose, BCS, playoff....that type of thing. But yeah other than those, might as well be a Big 12 team once in awhile.

  11. I would like to be positive about recruiting but I need a frame of reference. What kind of 2016 class did we have at this time last year?

    1. BIG ERN

      BIG ERN

As of July 4th for each year:

      16' Three 4*, Six 3*

      17' Four 4*, Six 3*, One 2*

    2. Atbone95

      Atbone95

For frame of reference, the targets we have remaining are light years ahead of the same targets we had this time last year. Sure weren't 5*s visiting on a regular basis.

  12. How the heck does Michigan get to be ranked No. 3. What did they do? Aside from losing to Utah and getting the beatdown from the Buckeyes?

Harbaugh's big fat face is all over every media outlet. That's why.

  13. Considering the losses on the defensive line.... what happens if NU is worse this year than they were last year... 4-8 or something like that? Asking for a friend. LOL

  14. The tough part about recruiting is that most, if not all, of the guys you pull in can't help you right away. They need time to develop. Figure two years or possibly three before they will be doing much of anything on the field.

    1. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

Considering the talent we have, 3 years is too long of a timeline. Unfortunately we need some guys that can contribute in year 1 and 2.

    2. Danny Bateman

      Danny Bateman

Really glad POB was an early enrollee. Hopefully him and Grim can get a connection going and he can really push TA.

    3. Redux

      Redux

I think maybe a handful of the guys we are about to land could contribute this season.

  15. I am a Dallas fan. And, as such, there have been times that I almost wished players, like Jason Whitten, for instance, could go somewhere else in a trade or free agent situation just so that he could get that success he deserves. I find myself feeling the same way about TA here at Nebraska. I think Armstrong would be deady in a system like Oregon. With that talent around him and his speed/ball faking ability. Don't think he'll leave. Don't want him to leave. But man would he be go...

  16. Trolls used to tell me... Nebraska will never be "back" and I laughed at them. But the last time I felt we had the ability to compete for high stakes and win... 2001. That's 14 years on now. And I look at where we are at... that troll is starting to look smart.

  17. Trying to syay poitive, but Colorado, 4-4, Nebraska, 3-5. That sucks

  18. Figuring out the CFB world by way of score comparison seems reasonable until that headache sets in

It's a weird, wild season. And not just for us.

  19. Thought of the day: It sure is easier to learn how to expect more than it is to learn how to expect less. End of the third quarter in Minny and Gopher fans are probably tickled with the idea of getting a hard earned win over Ohio to move to 3-1. Close game? Against Ohio? We would be freaking out... much the same way we are today after S. Miss

    1. commando

      commando

the gophers are losing to the fighting frankies now

    2. tmfr15

      tmfr15

Minnesota win over Ohio=Happy. NU win over S Miss=UNhappy.

What's the difference? We expect to win. Minny does not.

  20. Any chance USA beats NU somehow. I have read the experts picks. And I would like to believe it will be easy, but there is that part of me that doubts almost everything these days.

Yes, there is a chance. If there wasn't, there would be no game scheduled.

    3. 4skers89

      4skers89

I have the same feelings I've concluded it is because 1 game wasn't enough to give a good idea of what to expect. Since 2 coaches have mentioned USA's speed I think we should be concerned.

I heard they took Tennessee to the wire a couple years ago. Then again, they are in rebuild mode, so you might saying that's not relevant.

  21. Barry Melrose is providing football commentary on ESPNU. And PTI guy Wilbon walks onto set after commercial. I am thinking he was just coming back from the can. When is there too much coverage? I think that was just the answer.

  22. Hey Urban... RUN the BALL

  23. WTF... passing that many times with your backs against your own end zone. I get it as far as high risk, high reward, but GEEZ....

  24. Watching the Cajuns and thinking about what an upgrade it would have been for the Huskers to hire their HC instead of MR. Sarcasm implied.

Haha I was just talking about how I wanted their S&C coach in a thread here.
