We need to stop comparing this team to past records and 'ask the question are we getting better?' I've seen upgrades at near every position from last year, and truly believe we are a pass rusher and DB from getting to where we want to be.

The offense is progressing as fast as Adrian M is maturing.  It won't go any better till he can read defenses and  go through his progressions smoothly.  The O side of the ball is improving slowly but not fast enough to overcome the deficiencies of the defense. I feel sorry for Chin.  He knew what he didn't have the first week of spring ball.  Sadly they have only recruited one D back for 2019.  Maybe they can find juco help.

I'm not worried about Wiscy, granted I'm never worried about Wiscy and always shocked when they win. My point was this, folks were shocked when our second team offense jumped on our first team defense. Those things can happen and it doesn't mean we are in for a crappy season.

I see the correlation between talent and production, but that doesn't imply a lack of coaching.

The implication is when you look at talent and production from year to year and see it not progressing.

The OL play has been underwhelming under Cav. That should put him in the hot seat, which was what the OP was about. I am not asking for the guy's job. Maybe OL plays gets better, but two seasons in, he should be on notice, given how important the OL is for any offense.

Agreed, and toss in the play calling as a big factor...on both sides of the ball. The D will keep us in the games as long as Banker turns up the pressure on the opposing QB's. Hope they watched the PSU-tOSU game.

Yessir. They finally stopped the run the way Banker's defense is supposed to. Jones and Kalu had a couple mistakes throughout the game but overall played great. Love seeing the secondary get some takeaways.
