http://deadspin.com/5981300/cary-williams-shoved-an-official-and-got-away-with-it It's cool, the refs didn't see it happen, right?

Looking at all the names in the recruiting board reminds me of this:
-
It's gotten to the point where I'm more angry about seeing our fans on social media complain and personally attack the players/coaches after a loss than I am about the actual outcome of the game.

Just got out of surgery to fix my ankle, it was dislocated and broken in three different places. It's been a rough last few days, but on the plus side, my anesthesiologist was Rob Zatechka.

Kaepernick is now planning to file a grievance against the NFL team owners for collusion since none of them want to sign him. None of them want to sign me either, for the same reason.

Actually, I don't pay much attention to the NFL anymore. The whole thing is too business like with a bunch of overpaid prima donnas. I barely make the time to watch my two favorite teams, Broncos and Packers, play every once in awhile. I watched all of about 5 minutes of the Denver game last night. I used to love the NBA and the NFL. I absolutely can't stand the NBA and the NFL does nothing for me. It's no longer a game played for pride. There is no loyalty to anything except the mighty dollar. The NHL is the only professional league I like. So I really don't care about Kaepernick or the NFL. And yes, I do think all of them should be more modest with their views. They play a damn game and get paid obscenely well for it. They should be thankful they don't have to really work for a living.
-
And I'm not pretending the NFL doesn't put the clamps on controversy when it comes to marketing their product. What responsible business doesn't try to maintain a certain image? I just really don't feel this is anything approaching collusion or even the league putting clamps on controversy. My gut tells me he might be getting a little more opportunity without this issue but I also don't feel it is the thing keeping him off a roster. I sure don't think it's some wide ranging, league mandated blackballing. Maybe the lesson is, if you're a bubble player then you better fly a little straighter and not act like you're indispensable because you are. I would do the exact same thing with hiring decisions in my business. If I had 10 people apply for one job opening and they're all about equal skill and experience but say one has a history of work comp claims, why in the world would I choose the guy that presents a possible liability? That's not collusion, that's just the way life works. It shouldn't shock anybody.

Scott is saying all the right things so far. It took me a long time to be sold on his loyalty to Nebraska, but I don't have any doubt at this point.

Two weeks from today I have my next post-op appointment and am hoping to get the good news that I can start walking again. It's amazing how easy it is to take something like being able to walk for granted. I had surgery to repair my shattered ankle just over a month ago, and it's been a long month.

Whatever happens with our coaching situation, I'd love to see Chris Del Conte get the permanent AD job.

You gotta at least call Greg Byrne and make him say no. Nebraska can offer more money (shockingly, Alabama is 'only' paying him $900k) plus a chance to bring Nebraska back to glory. Plus, his dad was the AD here...just spitballing. I don't blame Del Conte for turning down the Texas job, talk about inmates running the asylum.

With Mullen going to Florida, I will be absolutely shocked at this point if Frost isn't N.

$EC fans on Facebook are all talking about how weak the B1G is, and a few even threw out the notion that the only reason Nebraska looked so good was that they played a weak opponent. Other than Georgia in one half of football, none of their teams looked that great, but if LSU beating a team they're ranked above already by 4 points makes them feel dominant, more power to 'em I guess.
-
And yet again, all the Bo Pelini apologists will look at our final record for the year, neglecting the fact that we're beating weak opponents in mostly unimpressive fashion and are getting embarrassed by teams with a pulse. This is the song that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends...

Any questions about whether or not Kaepernick is the real deal have been answered. Colin is a beast.
-
Calvin Johnson and the Panthers defense combined for a whopping -2.8 points today. This is definitely not my year for fantasy football...

Confession time: In my 29 years of living, I have been to exactly 0 Husker games. That number will increase by 1 on Saturday. I know, it's just McNeese State, but still... this is something I've been waiting all my life for.

First Huskerboard changes the layout, then Facebook changes the layout. Copycatting?

For a minute there, I thought I should go on a diet, but then Pizza Hut's hot chocolate brownies happened and I decided dieting just wasn't worth it.

From 76 years without a freshman Heisman winner to a freshman winning it two years in a row. Crazy.
-
From stiffarmtrophy.com: "No fan base will ever be as high-energy as the Nebraska Cornhusker fans were when Ndamakong Suh was a finalist. Seriously." I LOL'ed.

Funny how when Aaron Green left he was an immature traitor for leaving because he wasn't getting PT, yet it's the staff's fault Braylon Heard is leaving for the same reason, even though he'd likely be 2nd string this season. I'm not showing Heard any more love than I showed Green just because he stayed for one more season, sorry.

Go Stanford. There's nothing else to say.

Hey Ohio State, is there any chance we could uhhhh, borrow Braxton Miller until the end of the season? I promise we'll give him back...
