Other sources have said Florida has vetted him but is NOT their top choice, but simply on their list.

 

 

I really think the reason that SE ended this now instead of after the bowl game is the fact that Florida and likely Michigan will also be going after the same top names. I think Bo and Muschamp are prime examples that great college assistants don't make great head coaches at a big-time program. They really need to learn and prove themselves as a HC at a smaller school first.

Left-field suggestion since he's at his home school, but what about Bryan Harsin? Longtime offensive coach at Boise State under Hawkins and Petersen, OC at Texas for a couple seasons, took over Arkie State and led them to a bowl, and seems to be keeping Boise on track in his first year as HC taking over for Petersen.

 

His salary is $1 million and buyout is $2 mil. Like I said, though, I don't really see him chasing the money to leave Boise. Plus friends in Boise would never talk to me again if we hired him away.

Here's the thing....just had this thought....

 

For people to think that this is SOLELY about wins and losses...you are mistaken.

 

But we don't know what guidelines and standards were set to Bo when Eichorst got on the job. Obviously.

It pretty much is though. Bo had a great program in every other regard, except for his outbursts.

Regarding Tressel: IF Nebraska were to hire him, I can almost guarantee that Perlman, Eichorst, and Tressel could convince the NCAA to reduce the restrictions placed on him (not able to coach the first 5 games and not coaching in bowl).

If they hire Tressel before this year's bowl game and he doesn't coach...then that counts against the restrictions, yes?
