mwj98
Its almost like the want to force their offensive philosphy in no matter what. Until we get a better qb, we gotta be careful with all this passing. We arent that team yet. Be conservative. Quote Link to comment
girlknowsfootball
Our problem in this game so far is three simple things. 1) Tommy makes bad decisions and has poor touch on his easy throws. He throws them too hard for running backs to have a chance to catch. This is all Tommy and not langsdorf. 2) Offensive line blocking to open holes for RB's has not been good. They have been getting beat. 3) DB's are playing 10yds off the ball in unders coverage. I HATE this philosophy. This is on Banker. They are athletic enough if they would press they would be able to be right on the receiver to get a hand on the ball. Playing 10yds off allows the WR to get open for 5-7 yard pass catches with no contest. They can move it down the field all day with this. 1) Can't argue w/you there. 2) Part of that is that Wyoming is sending extra men and living/dying by the blitz, and our kids aren't picking it up. Part of that is on the coaches, part on the kids. 3) Agree 100% To go back to (2)... With all the blitzing, we've got open receivers all over the place and the screen should also be open. Again, if Tommy were a better QB he could find the dump guy when ppl are in his face. Instead he takes his eyes off the field and tries to run away. Missing open guys all over the place. I understand not having time to see downfield but he should be able to find his 5yd out dump guy. He's too slow getting rid of the ball. Like announcers are saying... Timing is off. girlknowsfootball
Why do we play so soft at DB position?! Play 10yds off and allow them to complete pass with no contest... Then run up and tackle them. Why?!? 1 Quote Link to comment
HuskerInLostWages
Dunno why anyone thought Armstrong would improve. He plateaued as a Sophomore. There was hope in his Junior year because of the new coach but obviously nothing happened. As for the red zone INT, that's on both him and the call. 50/50 No way thats 90/10 on TA. He easily could have thrown it away instead he tried to force it. The play broke down but its not drawn up to throw it into 4 defenders. 1 Quote Link to comment
CheeseHusker
Well, we got third and short figured out, I tell ya. Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
Nice stop by the defense. Was really worried about Wyoming's offense, and our defense really has done a good job against their running game. Frankly, Wyoming's best defense is Nebraska's offense, considering we've left more points (11) on the field than we've scored (10) Quote Link to comment
Scratchtown
The tackles Wyoming is missing, conference teams will make. Need to block better. Quote Link to comment
Decked
Why do we do so much stupid sh#t? Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
And we're doing stupid s*** again. Quote Link to comment
Hammerhead
Somebody on our offensive line finally hit somebody. I'll be damned. Quote Link to comment
shyndy
More of that punt return where we don't block anyone or anything. What is the deal with that? We did that in pelinis second to last year before he oversaw changes to it, was hoping to never see that again Quote Link to comment
MichiganDad3
Idiotic penalty. This team is sloppy Quote Link to comment
