Why is Donald Trump a racist?

Btw, no one denies there is racism but it is a tool to distract from the real issues.

Hillary said it herself and the Bernie Bros and everyone else killed her for it...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/02/13/clinton-in-nevada-not-everything-is-about-an-economic-theory/

"Not everything is about an economic theory, right?" Clinton asked her audience of a few hundred activists, most of them wearing T-shirts from the unions that had promoted the rally. "If we broke up the big banks tomorrow and I will, if they deserve it, if they pose a systemic risk, I will would that end racism?"

"No!" shouted her audience.

"Would that end sexism?"

"No!"

"Would that end discrimination against the LGBT community?"

"No!"

This is code for, "I'm supported by the big banks(Like Goldman Sachs) to make sure racism is at the forefront of your mind."

So Trumps racist past (and present actions) are just a 'tool' to distract Americans from the 'real' issues?????!!!!!! WTF????!!!!!

You sir are the pure definition of the Delusional with a capital D Trump supporter as well as person....

Let someone make this very clear for you. Trumps past (and present) exhibitions of blatant racism are not a tool my friend. They happened and are exactly who he is and what he represents. Yep. That's the guy you voted for and support. You must be proud eh?

Unreal.

You're dodging....

Except the only one guilty of 'dodging' isn't me. Racism isn't a 'tool' as you'd so ignorantly like to believe to distract voters from the 'real' issues which in case you forgot was what you claimed in the very the first sentence of your post. I suppose you thought 9/11 was an inside job too right????!!!!! Take off your tin foil hat. A racist is part of who Donald Trump is and unlike you that is a pretty f'n important 'issue' for me. Obviously it isn't for you. I know, I know. The Democrats fabricated his words and actions when it comes to women and the physically handicapped too right?????!!!!!!! You know. To distract everyone from the real issues.... Jesus.

Why is it so important for you, personally?

You really need an explanation for this? Don't you want someone who is of high moral fiber, and we can all respect in office? Now that was never going to happen in this election, but do you really need that explained to you?

I don't think it will ever happen in today's society. Everyone has skeletons in their closest, one way or another, and they get amplified when you enter a spotlight such as becoming POTUS.

LOMS thanks for taking the time to compile and post the stuff above - I knew it all and yet its still just horrific and mind boggeling to see it all in one place.

WoodyHayes will tell you that all of those stories are just a 'media tool' to you know....distract Americans away from the 'real issues'...

Disgusting. Just truly, truly sickening.

Everyone has skeletons, but most of us are smart enough to admit faults, and not amplify them ourselves.

Didn't read the ENTIRE thread, and copy/pasted this from reddit. Many of us will realize that some of them are stretches as far as strict definition of what is or isn't overtly racist, and some of them refer more to his supporters than to him himself, but you know the saying where there's smoke there's fire? Well in this case can we just admit that when there's a firetruck, with firemen, spraying firehoses, and the sky is orange, and there's lots of smoke, that there's actually a fire, and that it's okay to acknowledge the fact that there is a fire and that it's not just being used as a distraction from an earthquake a mile away, or that we are dismissing the fact that other fires exist in other places?

Okay, cool.

Look at it this way.

I've heard nothing for years but very personal, incendiary attacks on people like President Obama and Clinton (damn liberals!). These attacks are sometimes relating to policy, but more often than not personal attacks on their character. A lot of these character attacks are partially or entirely made up, not truthful, and rooted in opinion that was likely gathered from the Fox News corners of the world.

This was coming from lots and LOTS of people on the right. Not just the racist or anti-Semitic or otherwise undesirable Trump supporter types, but good men too, including plenty of our Republican elected officials.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. Suddenly conservatives feel attacked because people are bringing up legitimate, documented instances of Trump showing his racially incendiary and bigoted past, and it's the left just trying to distract people? Like they do with gun control or healthcare?

Come on, man. Do you not see the glaring double standard?

Those criticisms of Trump don't suddenly disappear because he got elected. People shouldn't try to minimize them, either.

I think we should be able to rip on both sides, doesn't matter to me at all! I just don't know why some get banned for it while others don't.

It is because the mods are mostly liberal and they can do anything they want like insinuate that posters are raciest, while conservative leaning people get banned for calling someone out with bad reading comprehension. At the same time other liberals have also done, with no banning.

I saw a great quote today, I'm paraphrasing here but it really succinctly sums up my feelings:

"Not all Trump supporters are racist, misogynists, homophobes or bigots but all of them decided that these traits aren't deal breakers for the leader of the free world."

Those are all deal breakers. As a conservative, I have no use for anyone, that thinks any of these things are acceptable.

Saw this on my FB feed. Friend of a friend. The area by the capitol building has a large Hispanic population so I wonder if they were searching for people to abuse.

I am truly saddened to write what I am about to write. Today, for the first time since I arrived in this country to pursue my doctoral studies, I didn't feel safe. Yet, I must share this so we can start being conscious of what's yet to come, and to do whatever we can to stop it before it gets worse.

I left the university late today. I was riding my bike at about 8:30 pm right in front of Lincoln's capitol when a car with four young white males slowed down to match my pace, and they started shouting things at me. "Trump is my president", they said. "We're gonna send you back to your country, coima", they continued. "We're gonna build that wall and you will never come back". "Coima, piece of sh#t", was the last thing I heard before I changed my route so I could not be on the same way they were anymore. I truly feared that they were going to come after me and hurt me with more than words. The rest of my ride I kept looking over my shoulder...

I want to call the attention to those Trump supporters that are not bigots or racists, so they realize the monster they helped to wake. IT'S HAPPENING. And this is just the beginning.

I'm sorry for the United States, but not because their soon to be president is a clown or an ignorant or ill prepared for the task. I'm sorry because the country of liberty just went back 50 years in the past, all thanks to a few haters who felt empowered to leave the dark holes where they were hiding all this time.

We need to stay together in these dark moments because WE CANNOT LET HATE WIN.

^There's been a lot of that that I've seen, too. It's heartbreaking. Even if it's likely scattered idiots, understand the power of one unchallenged idiot's actions.

First, in a twisted sense, I think it is possible that on this front it's better that Trump won. These celebrations are harmless compared to the backlash that would've occurred had he lost. There are violent nuts on both sides. I don't think it's a mystery as to which one has more.

Second, we can stand together against that. It shouldn't be hard.

Finally, of all the reported unrest (and while it has been concerning, it hasn't been *that* much and *that* extreme), the only thing Donald Trump has seen fit to respond to are the protests against him. This is a hugely worrying blind spot on its own. Then consider his two responses to those protests: 1) dismissing them as inauthentic and unfair, and 2) minimizing them as a few. DJT sees what DJT wants to see, and the rest doesn't exist in his world.

Most powerful man on Earth.

Oooh! I've got one!

Here's a friend of mine from back in high school:

If you know me, you know I work my ass off to pay for things I need and sometimes I have the luxury to afford things I want.. I am Salvadorian, I'm bilingual and I'm an immigrant OH and no I'm not a criminal. (Unless being here wanting to better myself makes me a criminal) I will admit how terrified I was on Election Day when Donald Trump was announced the next president. I've lived in Denison, Iowa for most my life and to be honest, yes I've had a few incidents where people have shown racism towards my family and I but you know what? I did not let it get to me. There's good people and bad people EVERYWHERE. I just want to say sorry, sorry to everyone who voted for Trump because to be honest, I hated every single one of you. Not because I thought you were being racist but because you were voting for the man that I am afraid of. The man that could possibly crash my dreams of graduating college, becoming a teacher and raising a family in such a beautiful and diverse place like this place that I've called home for the past 13 years, the United States. Once again, I am sorry. EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinions and I just think that we need to all realize that. We may not all agree on the same thing but we need to respect one another. Anyway. Bye

I followed that up with a post from a friend of mine who was out with a friend when a young white male flicked a cigarette bud at her friend's 14 year old wheelchair-bound sister.

This is the kind of sh*t I voted against. People are so caught up in the fact that they won that it gives license to that jackasses among us to behave badly.

Would you tell my friend above or the friend's friend's sister or the person from Moriane's story that nothing has really happened yet? it's easy in our own mostly insulated lives to realize that there are people out there f*cking TERRIFIED about what is going to happen now.

I did not vote for him. As I have said before, Rubio was my choice.
