Guy Chamberlin
Wait, does this mean all giddy speculation and conspiracy theories will be automatically moved from the Forum they're in? Because that spells the end of HuskerBoard, people! 3 Quote Link to comment

We declare the board has an ongoing need for Rumorville as a repository for topics including, but not limited to: rumor, innuendo, gossip and hearsay, and all such topics as are Husker-related but which are more esoteric in nature (see: threads started by Roundball Shaman and Thurston from Pender). We further request that Rumorville remain permanently available so that we may discuss topics which may not be true, but which seem possible, such as coaching moves, player/roster moves, facilities upgrades, rule changes, and other such topics as may arise throughout the year, both during the season and during the off-season. We further request that threads which may more appropriately reside in Rumorville but which are posted in forums such as Husker Football be moved to Rumorville at the earliest convenience of the esteemed and wonderful Staff, for whom we all have great respect and much admiration. Signed: knapplc I've been asking about this since my return to this wonderful community. At this point there are people from other fan bases making accounts out in the open just to troll people over these dumb rumors. Quote Link to comment

I asked about this, and a moderator was kind enough to explain to me that when the rumors of Frost coming back home started, rumorville and the front page became so redundant they just did away with it. Enhance
(not a signature) This post is not to argue for or against but to provide some background and additional perspective. Rumorville has been an on again/off again forum for many years. It usually resurfaced during major coaching changes or things of a similar impact. It was turned off in 2018 for a few reasons: - It tends to cause quite a few board maintenance and organizational challenges - Many users don't use it, so it's common for items to be discussed in both places without all users realizing it - We field routine questions about whether non-sports items should be in there or their appropriate forum When the mods discussed it last time, we landed on just notating rumored threads with either "rumor" in the subject line or some kind of question mark. We ultimately felt this was the solution that worked best and provided the most flexibility for overall board needs. 1 Quote Link to comment
