It's a town hall. What makes you think Trump would not be at the next debate? Is it coming from a news site from the left? Or coming from the Biden campaign? Or what else? It makes no sense. Why would he not defend his presidency in a debate with anyone, including Biden? (Please don't quote the brainwashing CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, NPR, WAPO, NYPO, The Atlantic, the lincoln project or VOX. Clearly we all know they are examples of purchased liberal media totes, distributed heavily from Semi Valley giant Google ) 1 Link to comment

One can easily look at his reaction and surmise he might be laying the groundwork to back out of future debates citing bias against him. Not to mention we're all waiting to find out if he got COVID. 5 Link to comment
Moiraine
Now he can back out of the debate because he's quarantining. 2 Link to comment

His whole game plan was to so screw up the 1st debate so he wouldn't have to engage in intelligent discussion back and forth. He says he doesn't do debate prep - he thinks he can wing it. The fact of the matter, if he and Biden had a civilized discussion, he would come out looking like a buffoon. 6 Link to comment

Exactly. He has to turn it to chaos because he couldn't possibly survive a Lincoln-Douglas debate. He'd be exposed and he can't have that. If they won't mute him when Biden's talking, and vice versa, they shouldn't even do debates anymore. 2 1 Link to comment

Yes- at this point - an unmuted trump isn't a debate and not worth watching. It may stir up his base of crazies but for all of those voters who are going to Biden and who voted trump in 2016 - I think this last debate will make them even more solid Biden. There would be nothing to gain. Let's have the VP debate -- then Nov 3rd can't get here quick enough - and Jan 20 wt a new president even quicker. Lincoln - Douglas - Trump thinks he's on Lincoln's level as a president and he probably has no idea who Douglas was. 1 Link to comment

But McInturff, the GOP pollster, cautions that the survey could represent a “shock to the system” right after a consequential debate. (Democrats, for instance, hold a 9-point advantage in party identification in this poll, compared with 5- to 6-point advantages in past ones.) And as a result, McInturff believes that the race could return to the stable 8- to 9-point margin where it’s essentially been over the last several months — which is still a difficult place for an incumbent four weeks before Election Day. The biggest declines for Trump in the poll come from seniors (who are now backing Biden by a 62 percent-to-35 percent margin) and suburban women (58 percent to 33 percent). And men 50 years and older moved from a 13-point advantage for Trump in the pre-debate NBC News/WSJ poll, to a 1-point advantage for Biden in this latest poll. 1 1 Link to comment
