Thanks for posting.  Yes it was highlights.  yes it was the spring game and no contact.  BUT he looked good.

I like the kid, great leader, fantastic attitude. Ran pretty well. Hit a good number of short passes, which looked very accurate.

Misfired on most of the passes that  were 15 yards or more. Again holding the ball long and not throwing many of the longer passes on rhythm.

Threw 2 lateral passes. One that went out of bounds and resulted in a 7-8 yard loss. The other was dropped and should have been ruled a fumble- it was on our 20 or so, so easily could have been a TD for the defense. Is he getting no coaching on the danger of throwing backward passes- you know the rule is for it not to be a fumble, has to be going forward past parallel?

If one of the main keys to getting better on offense is completing downfield- it didnt happen a lot in the scrimmage. The Spring Game results werent all that comforting IMHO

It’s a great response from a humble individual. Nothing behind this question, I haven’t come across your stance before, but why do you think he’s going to have a great year?

He's got experience.  He's got physical talent.  He's in shape and healthy.  He graduated.  And we saw how the time on the sidelines actually helped (Penn State and Illinois) his progress.

I like the Wrs (Tourre, O Martin, Manning, Betts).  I like our TEs (Austin Allen, Vokolek).  I like our OLine (however I do think they will be a lot better as a group in 2022 as they continue to play together).

And the most important thing is to get the team to play well together, so that all Adrian (aka "not taylor") has to do is play his game (and not have to carry the load so much).

Ranking the Big Ten: Quarterback

3. Adrian Martinez, Nebraska

Husker quarterback Adrian Martinez and his head coach Scott Frost are entering their fourth year together at Nebraska. The stakes are high, and Martinez is not shielding away from the pressure.

Last season, Martinez battled for the starting position against sophomore Luke McCaffrey , who has since left the program. QB1 is his once again, but he needs to play like it can be taken away at any moment. Nebraska is desperate for a winning season.

Despite the criticism, Martinez had his best season in 2020 in his offense grade (77.9) and run/rushing grade (80.8), according to PFF. His best passing season grade (71.1) was his freshman season. Martinez needs to get back to completing more passes. He has personnel he can rely on with deep wide receiver and tight end rooms.

Nebraska quarterback coach Mario Verduzco has been preaching that Martinez must reduce his turnovers. If he can do that and up his completion percentage, Martinez could lead Nebraska to success.

Pennix (Indiana) at #1?  No way.  He could be #1 this year, but he is NOT the best yet.  No way.

The top spot for #1 & #2 is battle between Minnesota's Tanner Morgan and  Iowa's Spencer Petras.  No particular order there.

Pennix and Martinez are #3 and #4 going into the season.  No particular order.

G Martz from Wisc is rounding out the top 5.  Could be better, but not there yet.

And finally, the league and media need to STFU.  Ohio State QB CJ Stroud hasn't played a game and is #2?  Get the f#&% out of here with that.  Show some respect (to the returning B1G starters).

If you think Petras & Tanner Morgan are battling for number one you need to get lasik because you are blind.

pennix is by far and away the best. And whoever OSU trots out will continue to smoke the rest of the conference.

yeah OSUs last 2 first year starters have averaged 4000 yards and 45 TDs that first season. Gonna go ahead and give them the benefit of the doubt.

Well when you’re a national powerhouse and the rest of your conference sucks…

LOL.  Wat???

Minnesota was #92 in the country in passing last year.  Morgan only completed 57% of his passes with 7 TDs and 5 INTs.

Iowa was #96 in the country in passing last year.  Petras only completed 57 % of his passes with 9 TDs and 5 INTs.

Martinez was at least as good if not better passing the ball (71%, 4 TDs, 3 INTs) and added 500 rushing yards and 7 TDs where the first two were both negative rushing yards for the year.

Martinez, IMHO, since his fresh year has been hurt by lack of better weapons around him.  Truly thinking this is a big or bust year.  Not related to Frost and Co, but our record overall.  Things just "feel" different.   I think we surprise some folks 8-9 wins or we do what a lot expect and get 5 or less wins......No middle ground.

His success last year, as you noted, was again lost in our now too often crappy W-L record.
