His Associate HC/ OLB Coach is a Texas High School Coaching legend His Def Coord has been coaching for 31 years His Off Coord has coached at BYU, LSU, Colorado, Arizona State etc. His position coaches have much less experience (some successful state championship HS coaches in TX, others a few years at another P5 or G6 school) 5 minutes ago, FrantzHardySwag said: Well for one, he had the balls to fire and revamp his offensive staff after one year, and it seemed to work swimmingly. He took BYUs OC and OL coach it looks like (their OC is a solid OL coach as well) 2 1 Quote Link to comment

Oldhuskerfan
Aranda Napier please stop with the guys who will never ever come here. Be realistic. We don’t need to stoop to Mike Riley level, but forget urban, stoops etc 1 Quote Link to comment
HuskerNation1
As we look at a potential new coaching search, I found this article with the top 20 rated coaches heading into this season. Some interesting highlights: Dan Mullen at #5 Pat Fitzgerald at #6 Several names listed multiple time in this thread are in the top 20 including Campbell, Chaldwell, Fickell, and Napier https://www.pff.com/news/college-football-top-20-college-football-head-coaches-2021 Quote Link to comment

I do think Matt Campbell would still be good to consider despite ISU only being 3-2 now. He has at least shown he can have some very good seasons as the head coach of a P5 program and they have beaten some good teams during his tenure. With the Big 12 going down the tubes, he may want to move to another conference. Nebraska is not a step up from ISU anymore. NU left the Big 12 because of Texas and OU ten years ago. NU is on its 4th coach since then. Is it a coach issue? The Big 10 west is not any better than new Big 12 adds. Matt C turned down the Detroit Lions this past year. Other names? Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
Tom Herman or Bill O'brien for this guy Quote Link to comment

Nebraska has positioned itself to be a step up until they stop playing the game all together. Hiring bad coaches doesn't equate to Nebraska being at the level of ISU. Nebraska is in the easier division in the premier conference, has top notch revenue and soon to be facilities, access to top 25 talent, a major brand, and an incredibly loyal fan base. None of which ISU has except for facilities. It's actually embarrassing to see what Scott isn't doing with this kind of set up. We do need a guy though who treats Nebraska like an ISU while knowing he has plenty more to work with. That's how we will succeed. 3 1 Quote Link to comment
B.B. Hemingway
I haven't listened to any local radio or podcasts the past couple weeks, have any of the local media even bothered speculating on potential replacements? Quote Link to comment

But a lot of talk about the end of the Frost era. Quote Link to comment

B.B. Hemingway
All may be stretches, but Campbell, Aranda and Venables might intrigue me the most. 1 Quote Link to comment
