I'm breaking my own rule because the SF megathread has gotten out of control. We had members ask us to not moderatebe heavily, so we didn't and now it's just a place for memes, arguing, and discussion of the 1982 Penn State Game. This is a locked thread that I (and any other mods who want) can go through and update with posts that are actually relevant to the topic. The idea is that people can get most of the information re: rumors tweets and everything else without having to read 8 pages to find one new piece of information. I'm pinning it because I think it's a content area many people on the board are interested in. The megathread I'll leave to continue to evolve organically. I know many people look at the SF conversation as a playground because nothing definitive will happen until after black Friday. I appreciate that viewpoint, but there are also people who might want to come to the board for genuine conversation and information consolidated into one place. This thread is for those people. I can't promise to keep it updated but i'll try. I'm going to apologize in advance because it seems I can't copy posts from the other thread, just move them. I'd prefer not to move the other posts as it would make things confusing. As such, I'm just copy and pasting. I'm also including posts that I think add something to painting a picture about what's going on. This is by its nature arbitrary. I apologize if I missed something you feel like is important.

Jessica is just distributing information on a thread which is full of rumors, memes and unfounded gossip. I’ve poked fun at some of her posts as well, but in jest. I don’t get the hate being thrown her way. She’s doing the same thing sock did three years ago and he was hailed as a legend. These threads can be fun just for the goofiness they contain. It’s a way for a demoralized fan base to have some fun and hope for the future.

Think realistically about this. Who's involved in decision to fire Mike Riley, and if he's fired, to replace him? How big is that room? And what kind of dollar figures are we talking about in that process - how many millions? Then ask yourself - what kind of person is admitted into that room, where millions of dollars are at stake? People who keep their mouth shut or people who talk a lot? When you arrive at the latter choice, ask yourself how Adam Rittenberg, who hasn't set foot in Lincoln in weeks and who does not have the confidence of anyone in that room, get information on what decisions are being made in that room? And when you realize he doesn't have that confidence and they won't tell him anything, and nor will any agent/agent's staff, or any coach, or their families, or anyone involved, ask yourself where Rittenberg is getting that information? Or random posters on an RSS? tl;dr - nobody knows what's going on - not RSS posters, not local or national media types, nobody. Anyone who does isn't talking, because talking means termination.

I am assuming that if Rittenberg said that Frost wasn't coming to Nebraska you would have discounted him as well. Since he is telling you what you want to hear, you are hanging all your hope on it. Knapplc post speaks the truth.

This is the least surprising news. I don't see any reason for Lee to stick around. If Lee doesn't have his degree yet, he will probably get it this December. He can head to the NFL, impress scouts with his arm and his size and try to latch on somewhere as a backup. Lee already transferred because one school was moving to a spread offense that utilizes a mobile QB, why would he stick around for another coach going to a similar offense.

Supposedly Florida and Tennessee Rivals guys are saying that Frost is turning both those jobs down, and they believe he is headed to Nebraska. Another rumor stating that Sean Callahan has a hunch from Matt Davison that Frost is coming home. Another rumor stating that they have heard that Davison will have some role in NU athletic department and the radio staff is already looking for a replacement. I don't know what to believe anymore...

Won't be laughing if they miss Chip, but land Frost.

Super brief synopsis and dispelling some stupid rumors about this, and why those rumors exist: Frost went to Stanford instead of Nebraska, and some fans hated him for that, and have never forgiven it. Frost transferred back to Nebraska in 1995 and sat out the year as a Redshirt. While on the team but redshirting, he met and started seeing Kate McEwen, a Husker women's basketball player who had formerly dated Lawrence Phillips. The night of the 1995 Nebraska / Michigan State game, while McEwen was at Frost's apartment, Phillips climbed to the balcony and entered Frost's apartment, and dragged McEwen out by her hair. Frost fought Phillips, and helped get McEwen away from him. Frost did NOT, as the BS rumors go, cower in a closet while Phillips assaulted her. The rumor that Frost hid from Phillips is a lie, and perpetuated by people who do not like Frost. They were offended that he didn't go to Nebraska right away, they were offended that he dated a girl formerly dated by a teammate, and they were put off by Frost's cocky attitude. That rumor is not true, but it persists like "County Scholarships" because of jealousy and stupidity.

They were basically getting the Spring depth charts from every team to create all the rosters. The NCAA was in the wrong on these games. They profited from the popularity of the teams and the game, and the players were not compensated.

That is a prime example of why I can not be a part of a party anymore and my friends just can't figure it out.

That's problematic. It's also problematic that the "national media" who "got it right" was Dan Wolken and not Adam Golden Boy Rittenberg, whose word we're being told to believe (even though he didn't say what it's being claimed he said). There's a weird form of pretzel logic being used here to justify the fact that we should keep listening to someone who claims to have insider information. But every time we try to hammer down exactly what that information is or where it comes from, we're told to look elsewhere. It's almost as if this is all a load of horse hockey. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
