Despite the generality of the name, this thread is about mass shootings. They are what provoke all the postings. Not gun violence in general. If you want to discuss guns as they relate to gang violence, suicides, robberies, and other forms of gun evil, etc. that needs its own thread. Or maybe a thread for each one would be better. No gun problem will ever be solved by grouping all forms of gun violence together. Back to your question, though. Get rid of the AR's and the high capacity magazines and mass shooting deaths will go down. Oh sure, assailants can still use other guns and there will still be shootings and deaths, but anyone with just a decent understanding of ballistics knows that AR's and other high capacity rifle/pistol firearms are far and away the most deadly if were talking about taking as many lives as possible, which sadly, appears to be the goal of these deranged murderers. I'm pretty certain you know all of this, but chose to continually pivot to gun violence in general terms to further your defense of the AR-15.

Still......isn't it funny how the narrative changed? Celtics after 3 games were a complete embarrassment, exposed by a Heat team that had no quit and let down by their superstars. Then Celtics win three games in a row, everyone agrees they were the most talented team, Tatum is once again the Man, and the Celtics are about to make history. Maybe the 0-3 rally makes them even MORE special. Then Celtics lose game 7 and it's back to zero. Or worse. And Miami regains it's nearly squandered reputation as ice in the veins closers.

The Celtics had every chance and reason to make in-game adjustments, and they simply didn't. I'm not cruel by nature, but losing Game 7 in a blowout on your home court is surely worse than if the Heat had won 4-2 in a close game 6, and I kind of enjoyed the fan cutaway shots. Because it was suddenly a historic game, everyone was watching and now the Celtics are expected to commit $600 million in contracts to Tatum and Brown who both disappeared in multiple big games. There's some bad mojo in that franchise this morning.

I have spent the last two weeks going through everything that I could for this incoming class. I tried to be as objective as possible watching the tape of these guys. I am willing to stick my neck out here and say that Rhule hit a home run with this transition class. I would go through all the guys but I think I see why they were not pushing too hard for portal dudes this second time around. I have no clue as to how Kwinton Ives got lost in the recruiting cycle. He is a natural running back with freakish ability. I fully expect Dylan Rogers to fit into that room immediately and position himself to have dibs on playing in 2024. Jeremiah Charles and Ismael Smith-Flores are not raw, and I think we're going to find out very quickly. Demetrious Bell might work his way into the 5 deep by the end of fall camp. He plays sudden and is very refined already. Gottulia is already showing he belongs. Ethan Nation is going to find himself in spot duty or not even redshirting and playing a lot on special teams. Eric Fields is going to play a lot. Riley Van Poppel is going to play and get it figured out by the middle to end of the season. We know about Lendhardt and Princewill. I think this class is going to make up a significant amount of starters next year and the very least will provide us with significant and highly productive depth.
