Decided to poke around some Oregon boards to see what their take on Dowdell was. Everybody seemed to agree that he's solid, but their RB room is just really stacked at the moment.4 points

Man I need to go to bed. Had a mini panic attack here thinking you meant Malachi Coleman and Carter Nelson were both transferring to Boise St. Time to sign off. Happy to be a Husker. GBR. ✌️4 points

Just hire him as the OC and get it over with! AT this level, an OC should not need to be 'coached up' or tutored. IF so, then the wrong guy is OC.3 points

No, but he was definitely a centrist. As was Hillary, who back in the day even got praise from her Republican colleagues in the Senate. Obama would be considered a centrist in pretty much any era of American politics. A moderate Republican today would be someone slightly to the right of center. A Kasich, Sasse, Romney, or Kinzinger perhaps. Basically Rinos who could no longer get elected. Which suggests the "center" is maybe.....Mitch McConnell? Is that possible? As you can see, the "center" has moved way to the right in the last couple decades.3 points

I think he realized the amount of crazies on the far left don’t come near the number of crazies on the far right.3 points

If you remember three years ago today, Republican leadership and even Fox News stood up and said "that's enough." They considered the insurrection a huge embarrassment for Trump, and the "stolen election" narrative a disastrous path for the party. The party brass and major donors had long wanted to be free of Trump, and January 6 gave them the cover. They declared unambiguously that Biden's election was legitimate and it was time to move on from Donald Trump. Then their offices got inundated and directly threatened by Trump supporters. They got primaried by even farther right candidates. Fringe political players found they could become stars on the conservative circuits by displaying unquestioned loyalty to Trump and ginning up the stolen election conspiracies. The polls suggested that Trump had not gone too far at all: his base — the base every Republican would need, to stay in office — had held firm. And then all those Republicans who had stood up to Donald Trump began falling like dominos, denying they ever said anything bad. The only ones who still have the "courage" to criticize him have left office, voluntarily or not. Also, Trump has threatened everyone who ever crossed him and has already stated his plans to use another round of the Presidency to exact his revenge. That's what they're afraid of.3 points

I’m not sure why Hochul would need to crack down on crime and why shop owners are so upset this past year verse others. Plenty of people are saying crime isn’t an issue except for those Republican talking points. Oh, and the Tru blue state of NY.2 points

Philly is in huge trouble. No way they make it out of the NFC IMO. Anything can happen in a playoff though, that's why I'm stoked for an actual one in college ball soon!2 points

They've talked about expanding the things that an analyst can do, but as of now they can't really have much direct interaction with the players.2 points

The only thing that gives NU a chance at having a decent team again is the fact that the Huskers are a blue blood program. What u smokin!?!?2 points

It's true. Obama spent far more time proving his moderation to Republicans than he did advancing anything remotely progressive, including health care, where he basically dusted off a Republican-approved plan and attached his name. Biden was famous for working across the aisle and was largely lauded by leading Republicans, and got the nomination because his safe and familiar centrism was the antidote to Bernie Sanders.2 points

Which is how Biden won against an opponent with an incumbency advantage and a large Electoral College bias that favors Republican candidates. https://twitter.com/HeatherCherone/status/1743686568827601219?s=19 Meanwhile, Republicans are nominating and trying to rationalize why they're voting for this.2 points

See that's the thing! Your old school is still paying you an offset of your original coaching contract based on what you make in your new gig. So, it's like you're still making a head coaching salary! Bo knows!2 points

The downside as an on the field coach is Holgorsen really hates recruiting. It would be an enormous shot in the arm for this offense though, as this staff desperately needs to completely restructure this passing game. Whatever role he takes, it'll be a big influence because the Air Raid brings a structured approach that, imo, Satterfield has always lacked. Some may be wondering how the Air Raid matches with Rhule's stated offensive philosophy, and to that I'll say to look at Michigan. A lot of their passing game is based on Air Raid concepts. You don't need 4 tiny wide receivers to utilize this approach it just started that way because the Air Raid, like most offensive systems, was designed to solve roster limitations at a school that didn't recruit the way the bigger schools did. Whatever role he ultimately takes, it will help solve the biggest problem this offense had last year: rhythm and timing. Our passing concepts had no sense of timing in their progressions and the QBs often held the ball, way, way longer than you can realistically expect to block. That's literally the problem the Air Raid was designed to solve.2 points

Another dumb thread. Who’s starting these? Iowa fans? The emphatic answer is yes. And YES Nebraska is a blue blood. We have all the pieces to return to greatness. Period, end of story, shut this whiney thread down.2 points

Holgorsen has been a part of some monster offenses at many many different places.2 points

Well, if Nebraska wants to start winning, it would be for OC and close to 2M. This is the big boy move that we desperately needed, and a hell of a sell to recruits, and a shock to the rest of the conference.2 points

He did get a medical waiver and has two years of eligibility. But he's only planning to be in Lincoln for one year (which would be his sixth year of college). No further explanation was given.2 points
