  1. This would be the same thing the instant Biden tries to get Bibi to investigate Trump to help him in the election.

  2. Your premise that "Joe Biden wants to recruit immigrants that hate us" is a gross misrepresentation of "providing humanitarian aid and refuge" to an oppressed people. You want the Arab world to take refugees. Egypt has already indicated they will. So that's taken care of. Did you read the poll you posted? Because it doesn't say they don't like us. Maybe you could quote the portion that shows that, if these refugees were allowed to come to America, they would be our enemies? Or cause trouble? Because I'm not seeing that. Being "dissatisfied" with our response is not the same as being an enemy.

  3. The grades are not the professors. The grades are the students, those grades belong to them for the work that they did. His/Her job is not to "play god" with the grades, his/her job is done, the class has been taught and the grades are recorded.

  4. You mean like no other allies except the 18 other countries who have provided more support based on GDP than the US? https://www.statista.com/statistics/1303450/bilateral-aid-to-ukraine-in-a-percent-of-donor-gdp/

  5. Thanks for asking. Here's the poll all the Western media cite. They don't sound like they like us at all. https://www.pcpsr.org/sites/default/files/Poll 91 English press release 20 March 2024.pdf Here's Mosab Yusef, a son of a Hamas leader. I think his UofMich speech was even better. All but a very small handful Palestinians speak out against Hamas like this. Palestinians don't share his view.

  6. Yes, I know, the US has proven to be unreliable because how our democratic process works. Expect the same when this new aid package runs out. It's unfortunate Ukraine doesn't have any other allies that can even began to provide the support they expect from the US. Kinda reminds me of how the Democrats opposed the Neocons at ever turn back in the 80's.

  10. Reading about the experiences other Middle Eastern countries have had with Palestinians over the last few decades is pretty eye opening. Really underscores the double standard held against Israel. There’s a reason Egypt’s border with Gaza looks like this

  11. Agreed about the polls but the good news is it shows how strong the Husker name still is! 7-0 start which looks very doable will have NU in that top 12. A 3-2 finish will have them in the discussion.

  12. Come on @knapplc, you just trolling me? You think Joe Biden wants to recruit immigrants that hate us and I should support that because of an inscription on a statue that France gave us? How about if the US matches the Arab world 1 for 1 with refugees?

  13. As I said a few weeks prior, expect Nebraska to appear on these sorts of 'darkhorse' type lists because the numerical indicators are very strong. The spring only reiterated that Nebraska is fully capable of turning last year's negatives into this year's positives.

  16. I can think of one Republican who paid any type of price for rank dishonesty: George Santos. And his dishonestly was breathtaking, staggering, otherworldly level dishonesty. By and large their voters will not penalize them for it. Going to be hilarious if Noem winds up being the second.

  17. Absolutely. LGBTQ issues are a center point of coastal democrats issues, but frankly it ranks low on a national scale. While those issues are important, constantly talking about them hurts their cause with voters that matter. Simply put, Democrats need to legislate in ways that help the LGBTQ community but not make it a center point of their politics.

  19. RE: Red Five Those stats show Nebraska has not been great at turnover margin over most of the past 20 years, but they show that turnovers, even for Nebraska, have a ton of year on year variance. Look at how many times in that list there is a 30 or 40 place jump one way or the other year to year. Our goal is not to regress to the mean. Our goal is to become #1 in that list every year. That list actually shows quite well what it means for turnovers as a stat to regress to the mean.

  24. I agree. A quick story. My first year at UNL I took Anthropology 101. It was a cake class that basically all you had to do to pass was show up, evidenced by the fact that a lot of football players and athletes were also in it. The professor was some wild liberal hippie with a ponytail down to his butt. He’d spend most classes whining how his colleagues were being persecuted in all these 3rd world backwater places. Well, I earned a solid B (3.0) in that class according to the predetermined scoring. End of semester d!ckhead gives me a 2.0. I go in to meet with him and see what’s up. He reviews all my grades and says yeah, you should have a 3.0……uh hold on, are you in a fraternity? I say yes. He says, oh that’s why, but since you came to see me I’ll change it back. True story.

  25. What regulations that are in place are so weak that companies like Tyson just blow them off and chalk up any fines to the cost of doing business. Imagine the green light given to industries when the EPA is completely neutered under another Trump regime.

  28. These protestors have already ruined in person learning and graduation ceremonies at some schools. Now professors want to hurt kids that have nothing to do with these protests. Maybe some of these students need those grades to graduate this month. I would just fire them. The semester is almost over, some schools are online. Just empty the campus so the protestors have no one to bother. The media should ignore them, like a little kid throwing a tantrum.

  29. Yep! We discuss this in a class I teach and I always show them this info from travel.state.gov and I let them know that they might want to rethink their travel plans if they are looking to travel "there" After careful consideration, if you still decide to go to high-risk areas, we urge you to: Enroll in the State Department's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). Develop a communication plan with your loved ones. Make sure you have a phone or other smart device(s) that will work in your destination. Use your device to share your location with your friends and family while you are abroad. Share important documents, logins, and contacts with loved ones before you travel. They will need them if you cannot return to the United States as planned. Discuss a plan with loved ones about care and custody of children and property. Draft a will and name appropriate insurance beneficiaries and power of attorney. Make a personal security plan with your employer or host organization. You may want to consider consulting a professional security organization. Identify key sources that may be able to help in case of an emergency. These may include the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate, FBI, and the State Department’s Office of American Citizen Services. They may also include your employer and local friends and family in the high-risk area. Appoint one family member to serve as the point of contact if you are taken hostage or detained. Set up a proof-of-life protocol. If you become a hostage, that person will know what questions to ask and answers to expect. This will help them be sure that you are alive (and to rule out a hoax). Leave DNA samples with your medical provider in case it is necessary for your family to access them. Erase sensitive photos, comments, or other materials from your social media pages. Do the same for your cameras, laptops, and other devices. The materials could be seen as controversial or provocative by local groups. Leave your expensive or sentimental belongings behind.

  31. When you've lost Newsmax... NEWSMAX HOST ROB FINNERTY: If you asked me a month ago who's at the top of the list to run with Donald Trump, I would've said your name. If you asked me that same question this morning, I don't even think you're on the list. NOEM: Really? And why is that? FINNERTY: It's because of things that came out in this book, like your claims that you met Kim Jong Un. NOEM: I've been to the DMZ. FINNERTY: Governor, that never happened, did it? NOEM: What I have said in the book is that when I became aware of the content, we had it changed. I should not have put that anecdote in the book. I am not going to talk about my meetings.

  32. They also need to stop seeming so "pro" everything that a lot folks don't relate to. For example, Instead of going out of their way to show support for LGBTQ, rebrand it as supporting individual rights to exist and be happy as long as they aren't hurting people. It's also okay to recognize that Christianity is the prominent religion in the USA and Dems need to be okay being vocal about how their religion shapes their philosophies. Stop letting the GOP from being the only party that hijacks religion. It also sounds stupid, but it would also be helpful if Dems very publicly stated that they are strongly against "abortion after birth!!!!"....They need to realize critical thinking is a struggle for most folks and they need to stop counting on people to be able to do it...

  40. The probability of a recession has been getting lower lower. The Democrats have made lots of mistakes, including Biden and Clinton being the best candidates they could come up with. But with a candidate like Trump, sometimes you have to put some blame on the idiot voters. I'm not sure how the Democrats reach the type of people who are willing to vote for a depraved piece of s#!t.
