  1. Funny how our right-wing poster friends don't seem bothered by any of this, and rarely, if ever, call it out.

  2. I'd be willing to bet money most of these kids have no idea that Hamas doesn't believe that Israel has a right to exist, that Hamas has declined the opportunity for the creation of a Palestinian state, or any number of things. All of this does not excuse Israel for conducting a poorly thought through and unnecessarily violent war. If there's ever a time to not care about either side in a conflict, it's one where neither side is interested in actual political resolutions to the underlying causes.

  3. “It used to be you would go home at the end of the day, most people would go, ‘Oh, 'Cheers' is on,” he told the publication. “‘Oh, 'M.A.S.H.' is on, oh, 'Mary Tyler Moore' is on. ... You just expected, there’ll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight. Well, guess what? Where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and PC crap, and people worrying so much about offending other people." https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/pop-culture-news/jerry-seinfeld-comments-extreme-left-pc-crap-response-rcna150008

  4. Is Jerry incapable of turning on a TV, tablet, or laptop? You really want to be triggered so good, don't you? There's tons of comedic media out there for consumption. Dave Chappelle has at least 3 specials on Netflix just making fun of trans people. If you don't like that there's Young Sheldon. George Lopez has a new show again too. I mean... this is the stupidest comment I've ever heard. Also, exactly what airline peanut joke can Jerry no longer say because it's not PC?

  5. Let’s see. We have a major party candidate that is pretty much tied for the lead. He says there will be violence if he loses. The last time he lost….checks notes…..there was violence. He’s already promoting the myth the election is rigged. He refuses to tell his supporters to not be violent. Good times….right?

  7. My Dude, I have not said a civil war or a Civil War is likely, just that it's more plausible than it has been in my lifetime and deserves attention. I mean, I opened with a joke about drawing sabers and Ken Burns. Stop trying to conflate what I've gone to the trouble of qualifying. But seasoned observers even older than me agree the current partisan climate and continued fueling of Donald Trump's ascendency is unprecedented and dangerous. And everyone on Earth agrees you've been wrong about the things we shouldn't worry about. The Archy move is to say it doesn't rise to the level of Gettysburg, so relax! We could call it a civil war or just a wacky kerfuffle, but if you play out either a Trump victory or loss it's not too hard to see some ugly stretches ahead. Can you imagine college kids closing campuses across the nation and getting armed responses? Well you don't need much of an imagination to see that playing out on a larger scale if either side believes the other has upped the stakes in partisan revenge. Savvy observers have noted that THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE LEADING CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT HAS PROMISED. Which part of scorched earth dictatorship don't you understand? Now if those are the ravings of an unhinged man who has lost most of his followers, and the bullwarks of democracy will step in and protect us, I'm willing to relax. Just saying there's plenty evidence to warrant legitimate concern, as many on this thread have outlined for you. If you want to do your part, I'm sure you will join hands with Liz Cheney to rescue the GOP from its worst impulses.

  9. He sits on his phone DM'ing portal guys all day. All he's ever known as a 'coach' is how to use his personal brand to out talent the other team. He has nothing of himself personally invested in most of these guys. They are, by all definition, disposable to him.

  11. One thing is for sure...the non-comedy shows are WAY "edgier" When it comes to drugs, violence, sex...even topics. Ever see Euphoria??? I think Jerry might just be at that "Things were better in my day" stage of life.

  20. Yes and no. By my count, we are currently at 95 players who would be expected to be on scholarship. But I feel fairly certain that most of the older transfers and even a few of the lower-rated HS guys came in knowing they would be on NIL deals instead of scholarships. So it seems very likely that most of the group of IGC, Ben Scott, MJ Sherman, Elijah Juedy, Neyor, Banks, Mazzccua, Thompson and possibly even Jacob Hood, Tyler Knaak, Blye Hill and Dante Dowdell have never been on scholarship. That's 12 guys right there. And I wouldn't bet against the same going for some of the group of Eric Ingwerson, Ashton Murphy, Caleb Benning, Braylen Prude, Donovan Jones and Rex Guthrie. All those names are speculation on my part. But I bet there 8-10 in that group that aren't scholarship guys.

  21. I have been looking at getting one. Looking to get one of the ones that gets up to 700+ degrees to cook those pizzas in 3 minutes or so. Anyone have one? Indoor? Outdoor? I have used them before and loved the end results. An outdoor electric one, which I like for the ease of just turning it on and setting the temp. No propane or anything like that. If you do have one do you use it often or does it end up just being another appliance that sits there?

  28. Seinfeld co-creator Larry David has been doing just fine with Curb Your Enthusiasm for the last 20+ years. So what exactly is Jerry’s gripe? That people don’t watch 30 min network sitcoms anymore? I think that has far less to do with “the left” and waaaaay more to do with the countless streaming services and new original content that are available on demand now. People don’t consume media the same way they did in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. All in the Family, Cheers, etc were huge because they were the best of what was available at that time. If I have a choice between sitting down to watch Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, True Detective, The Sopranos or a new sitcom with George Lopez or Tim Allen recycling the same schtick from the last 40 years… it’s a no brainer.

  30. It's looks likely that we will enter Round Two of the NBA playoffs without Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, or Giannis Antentamkoumpo. Without Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Davis, Devin Booker, Chris Paul or Joel Embid. God willing without James Harden or Russell Westbrook. I'm already used to not seeing Kawhi Leonard and Zion Williamson. Really feels like a changing of the guard and I'm cool with it. Some really exciting players having their playoff moments.

  32. My main problem with the wealth tax is that it's unnecessary. Just raise capital gains tax rates on the sale of stock. Add a surcharge to sales of stock that exceed certain profit amounts ($10, 20, 30 million) or have the capital gains only apply to accounts with a certain balance or individuals with a certain net worth. This way they are only being taxed on the amount of money they actually profit while simultaneously only targeting super rich individuals.

  38. Mayor Adams and the police have put one name to the outsiders spinning up the students at Columbia. A video of Lisa Fithian. A professional 'called to arms by who'. https://www.foxnews.com/us/nypd-release-video-showing-professional-protest-consultant-columbia-university Mayor Adams: "These external actors are obviously not students, and their presence on campus is a violation of Columbia’s clearly stated policy," Adams said. "This group…is an outside agitator with a history of escalating a situation and trying to create chaos. It is our belief they are now actively co-opting what should be a peaceful gathering. This is to serve their own agenda. They are not here to promote peace or unity or allow a peaceful display of one's voice. They are here to create discord and divisiveness."

  39. Strangest thing. Nebraska can't win a midweek game and Creighton struggles on the weekends. If Nebraska ends up in the College Station regional I'm going to think it could have been prevented and I would give the side eye to the committee. Although if the 'Huskers dump the midweek game against SDSU it might really be time to worry.

  40. Why the f#&% would you think that? Where does this even come from? I went to the trouble of using simple words and concepts you might understand, and politely referred to the previous post that anticipated and answered your weirdass Archy deflection, including the bloodless civil war we're currently experiencing.. So answer the question: do you think there's a civil war scenario that might land somewhere between throwing daisies at each other (WTF?) and the deadliest war in U.S. history?

  42. That series was really good and odd. So much being made about the Lakers "winning" 75% of the series and losing 4-1. What that tells me, even with a guy on the Mt. Rushmore of basketball, he couldn't figure out a way to have his team perform in the clutch. Which has been the criticism of him his whole career, his lack of 'killer instinct and closing' and shying away from the big moments. Minny Denver should be fun. Minny has the size to defend Joker and body him up with KAT, Gobert and Naz Reid. Ant is playing at a superstar level. Denver is very well balanced and assuming the rest does Murray, KCP and Jackson well and gets them healthy, it'll be a great series. I think it goes 7 and Denver wins because of homecourt. IMO, this will be Denver's toughest playoff test in their last 2 play off runs. I think the winner of this series will represent the West against those dirty cheaters from boston in the Finals.
