For example: I'm a shop teacher, I have a standard for my WoodsI that students will be able to measure and cut a board to 1 foot. I could have them memorize where 12" is on the ruler and give them a handsaw OR I could teach them how to use a ruler and a chopsaw. Both would meet the standard, but only one way would set the student up for future learning.

Man, the defense hasn't been that bad guys. Our CB's have been cooked occaisionally and we've missed some tackles mostly in the Miami first half. Things will improve. Miami and BYU had some receivers that could do damage. RECOGNIZE that.

I think we lose to Wisconsin, MSU, and NW. Iowa and Minnesota are a tossup.

Given that we lost 2 of the OOC games, 3 losses in conference is totally possible. We lost three games in each of the past two seasons and things haven't gotten easier with our depth and talent level.

I've been impressed with NW this year. Beating Stanford who beat USC yesterday.
