  1. ThunderFreezingRain in Omaha. The streets are going to be a bigger dumpster fire than Bob Diaco’s defense. This has to put a huge STRAIN on Mean Jean and the city crews to keep the streets cleared.

ThunderFreezingRain sounds like the Huskerboard handle of a very indecisive person.

The streets this morning weren’t that bad. Kind of amazing.

  2. This is what courage looks like. This will be a story of the evil of Larry Nassar and his countless enablers at USA Gymnastics and Michigan State. But more and more it is becoming the story of young ladies, victimized as little girls, who found the courage to face down true evil in an open courtroom. I am in awe of their class, their bravery, and their refusal to be victims. Way to go ladies. We’re so proud of you.

"My dream is that one day everyone will know what the words #MeToo signify. But they will be educated and able to protect themselves from predators like Larry so that they will never ever, ever have to say the words, 'me, too.'"

  3. With this batch of recruits added, we look to have a ton of speed. We all know Frost knows how to scheme to get guys open. How are Big Ten defenses going to deal with this new kind of STRAIN?

The OL will instantly be better bc they will have one less person to account for.  QB will read a box defender and hopefully speed on the perimeter will back those safeties up and get those OLBs a little farther out of the box.

How is it that 2 coaching staff and 9 years couldn't get us a goddamn O line?

  4. Just landed LB Breon Dixon as a transfer from Ole Miss. former four star prospect.

  5. Anyone still thinking letting Frost coach UCF in the bowl game was a bad move? That was like a 4-hour recruiting video for Frost and Nebraska.

So proud of the coaches for honoring their commitment to those players. They sacrificed a lot over the last few weeks to secure that win today. So excited those guys are coming home.

  6. I think it would be cool if anytime the linebackers make a splash tackle, the fans would break out the “RUUD” call like they did when he was a player.

Guarantee it will happen. If theres one thing you can say about our fans, they are knowledgable. I actually already thought about it and i had already believed it will happen without prompting or spreading the info.

Is Ruud going to be playing defense on the field?  Why should the fans be chanting the coaches name when the LBs on the field are the ones making the play?  I don't get it.

    4. Ric Flair

      Ric Flair

Because the coach is a freaking legend. Because given the ridiculous difficulties our linebackers have had in even basic tackling for the last several years, should they make a great tackle, Ruud's coaching will obviously be responsible. Because the chant is cool as hell and a throwback to when the team sucked less. Because the Ruud family is legendary and it's a nice tribute to them.

  7. At what point will Tennessee simply give up and hire Bill Callahan?

@StPaulHusker I sure hope Tenn tries to find out :D. Based on their past actions, I'm guessing 9 wins, without titles and with some blowout losses tossed in, wouldn't sit any better with them. And I have my doubts if those 9 wins would come quite as easy in the SEC. If Bo thought our fanbase had unrealistic expectations.... he may want to stay at YSU and skip Tennessee.

I can't think of a better match than Pelini and UT's fans!!! A match made in hell!

  9. Was Tennessee really offering Gruden $10 million or more a year, plus another $8 million a year for assistants? That’s crazy money. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jon-gruden-talking-to-tennessee-volunteers-about-coaching-vacancy/

Wow.  That's so tough. I've worked with students on the Spectrum for the last 25 years. They perceive things much differently than we do so their responses are different as well. This is a very difficult situation for all involved . :(

  11. So who in the hell left Barry Sanders off his Heisman ballot in 1988? Or Allen, Walker or Griffin? That's just crazy. For my money, Barry Sanders was the greatest running back who has ever lived. http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/12/17/those-complaining-about-heisman-voters-leaving-winston-off-ballots-are-misguided/

"Crouch said he voted Arizona tailback Ka'Deem Carey first. That's a bit puzzling, given Crouch's reasoning for leaving Winston off his ballot. Carey was suspended for the first game of the season for a violation of team rules. Wildcats coach Rich Rodriguez never said if the suspension was related to two off-field incidents Carey was involved in, including a misdemeanor assault arrest in December 2012 for an incident involving his then-pregnant girlfriend. The charges were dis...

  13. So the volleyball team choked again. Nice season overall for a young team. But it would be nice to see them step up in a big game like this one and play their best rather than crumbling under pressure. Disappointing.

I assume you're calling my comment ignorant? That's pretty idiotic. I don't mind losing, especially to a better and more veteran team. But at least go down fighting and playing your best game. Does any of you actually think that's what happened? I don't. The fact the game ended on a service error was oddly appropriate, given that we made mental mistakes and looked out of sync all match. I think they did a nice job getting that far. I agree the future looks bright. I just h...

  14. The Texas job is great in terms of salary, benefits, prestige, visibility, resources and ease of recruiting. It's terrible in terms of managing the alumni, boosters and variety of factions in the athletic department, university and state. They need more than someone who's simply a good football coach to take that job and do well at it. He'd also better be a good politician.

Seriously? C'mon man. All of the first things you started are directly related to the "boosters". Yeah, there are politics just like every other place. An above average coach can do wonders there.

I agree with you both. Bo is a prime example of a great football coach not meant to lead a top FBS program

  15. Sounds like Mack Brown is done. I heard a radio report that if Saban declines the job, their next targets are Mike Tomlin and Jim Harbaugh. I suppose if they write a big enough check, anything is possible.

I know the Jaguars could use a good coach. Houston is also available. But i don't think Tomlin will get fired for one crappy season. Pittsburgh don't fire their coaches that often if ever.

  17. If Pelini is fired, as I think is now inevitable, it sounds like things will get crazy. Local media is hinting they know a lot and will finally unload. And Bo will likely burn bridges on his way out. So I think it gets even uglier in the short-term.

My comment wasn't meant as a direct exchange toward you...it was toward internet speculation in general. There are real things that ADs must consider. $7 mil is real money that Eichorst is responsible for, along with the direction of the program and what coaches may or may not be interested in coming to Nebraska.
