I think we can all agree society started to decay when people stopped using the Oxford comma.

I thought large gatherings were okay as long as they were outside? How many college teams actual have indoor stadiums?

Sorry @The Dude, let me rephrase that. Nobody anywhere (that anyone should listen to) has said that.

I was trying to find some actual fight records from celebrity martial artists. So far Van Damme seems like the only one with any significant full contact experience. 18-1 in kickboxing with 18 KOs. Hashtag Muscles from Brussels.

I wonder if Warren's flaky handling of this season will put the entire conference in a hole on the recruiting side of things. I just imagine coaches in other conferences are loving this easy ammo. "You don't want to go to the Big Ten. What if another flu bug comes through and you can't even play".

I, for one, welcome our new Boilermaker overlords.

I'm angry, and I have nobody to be angry at, which makes me more angry.

I've read and heard maybe 50 times how Ohio State is going to stomp NU because they'll be mad. My question is why can Ohio State be mad they got beat by Purdue 2 weeks ago but Nebraska can't be mad they're 2-6?

I'm not too worried about them being mad. They just as easily could have doubts and the thought that if Purdue beat them then anyone could. I mean it still could get ugly for NU if our defense doesn't do a better job than they have all year but I'm not too worried about our offense being able to move the ball. I expect a high scoring shootout that will come down to whether or not we can make a few stops or get some turnovers. If we turn it over and can't stop them, then it might get ugly.

Idiotic coaching and playing all around in the 2nd half. Well-deserved loss, sorry to say.
Every other loss this season is going to sting that much more.

If Budweiser comes out with this George Washington beer every year, I might have something to hold me over until Samuel Adams Octoberfest returns. Hash tag delicious.

So @The Dude which ones did you get?

Iowa is playing their best football right now.

@Redux Not fighting. Just disagreeing with your initial oversimplification. Then, you mentioned that Nebraska fades at the end of the year. From 0-6 to 4-1. I am pointing out Nebraska seems to be the team getting stronger over the season this year.
My responses seem obvious, so I am surprised you are giving any push back.
-
@Thanks_Tom RR I get what you're saying but I did not interpret what @Redux initially said as needing debunked. It seemed obvious that he was referring to the typical past and not to this season specifically. I don't think you guys are disagreeing, just maybe on a little different page.

Is Chin's "turd" sound bite his version of "the strain"? Here's to hoping he doesn't field his 4th consecutive turd of a defense this year.

@JJ Husker Not my old Buffalo Bills hat!

Is ten thousand smackaroos too many smackaroos to pay for a 2nd story deck (composite decking)?

@teachercdand then it rained on the way to school and your pyramid was ruined.
-
I think that's a decent deal. If you want an idea of the material costs, I've used this lumber yard that specializes in decks: https://thedecksuperstoreportal.epicoranywhere.com/products.aspx?direction=desc&searchText=&pg=0&sort=Relevance
Just keep in mind that the labor does require some skill and knowledge. I've built a couple decks and it's a lot of work.

Is that big hit that popped the QB's helmet off actually legal in the AAF?

Is the 2nd half worth watching since the whole thing is garbage time?
- Show previous comments 5 more

Absolutely they let up but they only beat us 10-7 in the 2nd half. You should watch it and pretend that's the whole game. But, you better block the on screen score and turn down down the volume. And just to be safe, get totally wasted before you start it and pretend tOSU gave a sh#t. You can pretend their substitutions are because the starters were struggling. It's almost a game if you follow these steps carefully.

Is there anyone else who (still) doesn't care for Twitter?

I echo what Mav and others said about Twitter being a news vehicle which is what I use it for in regards to quick news on sports/recruiting/etc. I'm a heavy user of LinkedIn due to my job but even that is starting to get annoying..granted that's my own doing as I have lots of connections so my feed is going to be pretty clogged. I've never signed up for FB but might have to for work purposes (making sure anyone my clients hire isn't a crazy person in private).
I still prefer the traditional newspaper, I'm one of those weirdos who gets a couple newspapers each day still.

It's hard not getting fired up listening to Tanner Farmer's interview.

Well, I think it will be some of both. Sure they aren't going to scrap their offensive plan or delete big chunks of the play book but it does sound like they will run things to the strengths of the players they have and that they will endeavor to have the best guys on the field. So when it comes time for an OL to pull, I bet they're doing it with a guy that can get the job done or they won't do it. That'll be quite a change from what we had under Riley or Pelini. No more square peg round hole BS.
BTW, I've never seen Farmer speak before. Very articulate kid. I like it.

It's kind of funny everyone is fine with Coach Austin's philosophy of not rotating offensive linemen.

I admit that I was a "rotate the linemen" guy with Cavanaugh. Many of my comments was focused on keeping guys fresh, especially with the lack of fitness which plagued the Cav lines and Riley era. I also wanted the line to play better, and thought a different approach to which Cav was using would improve the play.
Now with improved S&C, the "need" for rotating linemen may not be the same. Plus, as Mavric pointed out, the 2nd team guys are getting more reps in practice, so in theory, they would be more ready to perform when needed.

It's safe to say the move to a 3-4 defense hasn't been the magic bullet so many were hoping for, but I'd go so far as to say this experiment has been and abysmal failure. But I'm not sure we're ready to have that conversation yet.

It's starting to look like football season might get here whether we like it or not.
