As far as the defense, I’m not convinced it’s as bad as everyone seems to think. We’ll have different players and for the most part we won’t be facing the same offensive mindsets that UCF did. I thought his D played hard and aggressive, which would be a huge improvement for Nebraska. Just have to tackle better and limit the long ball plays and the B1G isn’t particularly known for wildly slinging it around the yard. I might be wrong but I thought their rush D was half way respectable.

I was thinking the same thing.  He seems to be a beast in the PAC 12.  I remember some of it was a schollie crunch and it was between HP and Mick Stoltenberg and they wanted the other to walk on.  They eventually picked MS and Stnford started courting HP.

Kid is really really smart.  I remember hearing (again from horrible coaching contacts) that he was looking Ivy before he really started blowing up.

They don't have a FB. Maybe my interpretation of that play is different than what you're talking bout 

They don't have a fullback, but they do use an h-back similarly and will motion into 2 back sets. I really like how they use Otis Anderson in that capacity.

And I think a lot of folks owe Tommy an apology--dude was masking some glaring holes/issues with his talent. 

Tommy still wasn't a good QB.

But it's looking more are more likely all the time that he bailed out Riley with 9 wins last year.

Not saying he was a good QB, but he had talent and a big heart, which looks like it was worth three or four wins on its own.
